it really is when I was 15 I was on trial at Sheffield united (as a Sheffield Wednesday fan no less lol) and I had a month trial at which point I felt I belonged these players were my level and my dad who played for semi pro and almost pro told me I looked like I fired that level but the trial ended and the coach said to me "you have really impressed us and should be proud, however your no better than the current striking options we currently have so its gonna be a no" This baffled me as their academy had mostly grown up tougher at that academy since the u8 age. So they had 8 years of professional level coaching and here comes me from Sunday league with no professional coaching being told no because I only match the current quality but in my head surely with their coaching I could excel the current players. But the game really is about opinions as months later SWFC came for me and were on the brink of signing me to the academy and then I tore my ligaments in a trial match, and that was that. But two academies with two very different outlooks whilst having similar quality through their squads, I was good enough for one and not the other.

at least english players are not moved all over europe before they are told to give up by some know it all.. many african kids are moved to france and germany and then either left to fend for themselves at 14 or constantly moved all over europe
@user-tq8fo9kl5p7 жыл бұрын
true but the English kids normally decide to pursue a different career as there is many careers in England whereas the foreign players e.g. African players have less careers to pursue and normally come from a poor family so they will do anything just to try and make it big to change their lives. As you seen in this video some of these players were wearing branded clothes Armani etc. whereas the foreign players wouldn't be able to afford much so they try to become a pro football player as it is few choices of careers.

Academy football at pro clubs is a flawed system. Build up the hopes off 20 lads each year when the academy are really only interested in 2 or 3 off them. Unfortunately you need 16 lads to make up a match day squad so it will always happen. They should focus on education more.

If there are amateur players reading this wondering how they can get a exit trial - it's reserved primarily for released scholars. Though there are lots of open trials available. I just did a few with LA Galaxy and a few organisations that get scouts to come watch your games. I'm just uploading my experiences at those games now so come watch if you want. Good luck to all these ballers. Football is tough, but hope to see at least a few of them will succeed and create their own Jamie Vardy type stories 💪🏼

If they want to be professional then the money shouldn't matter weather the wage is £30k a week or £30k a year as long as you can live of playing football then you should try to play anywhere and not limited to just England. Sugar coated expose of the REAL jungle and exploitation of kids and their families by cut throat coaches who are tasked with finding gold on the cheap It’s the side of the game that football doesn’t like showing because of the amount of money in the game Unfortunately the undue mental pressure forced on young adults is deliberate - it’s designed to see which cope with and which crumble, a kind of ‘Hazing’ process. The guy at 7:20? ish is typical of being blinkered by physical size and not focused on technique and speed, physical strength can be worked by coaches who are not lazy As other posters have stated....very depressing for 15-20 year olds

Don’t feel disheartened watching this and thinking you can’t go pro or even semi pro I’m currently 16 and I’ve played at Sunday league level all throughout my younger years and I had a few trials at major clubs such as milwall and arsenal however I never really settled there and I always was told my size is an issue I’m not small in terms of height however my muscular capabilities are very poor and I’m not the quickest player however I had the technique and the ability and I was always seen to be different as I am left footed. Anyways I began to feel as if I need to find something else and that football wasn’t what I was going to do to earn my living however I kept persevering and I began to work out and build my strength and my speed and I’m not saying this happened over night but over a long hard 14 months I managed to catch and exceed some of my competitors for strength and I began to Regain confidence and I started to put myself out there again I joined many programmes and had trials at clubs and then I settled at a non league club and currently I’m a awaiting to pass my GCSE’s and get my scholarship to play for the academy at my club although it’s not a professional club I still have the ability to progress
