FILM DESCRIPTION:
Since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago, Victor Fielding (Tony winner and Oscar® nominee Leslie Odom, Jr.; One Night in Miami, Hamilton) has raised their daughter, Angela (Lidya Jewett, Good Girls) on his own. But when Angela and her friend Katherine (newcomer Olivia Marcum), disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it unleashes a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil and, in his terror and desperation, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed anything like it before: Chris MacNeil.

Today’s filmmakers need to understand something: a jump scare, like in this scene, does not cause fear. It causes a temporary startle. The Exorcist original had very, VERY few jump scares…and they were used in an effective manner each time, when enough tension had already been built. Believer overused them when it could’ve focused on the storyline quality instead. It’s the psychological aspects, intense dread, and genuine fear that made the original so good…and Believer is missing all those quality, vital components.

This coulda been so much better but the script writer, Scott Teems just BUTCHERED Chris. David Gordon Green too. Ruined Halloween and this. The Exorcist tv show is still the best sequel to date.

I understand how everyone hated this remake, at least i did liked it, its just an okay because its kinda like a Halloween type of year like 12 years ago after the first one, and this obviously is like a requel, have 2 throwback characters like Regan MacNeil and Chris Macneil and the effects is like something that it scares about, but to me, no horror movie scares me. And also again, this is an meh movie for me.
