I really enjoy the dynamics between characters this episode. Naomi facing the consequences of actions, she thought she wouldn’t have to because wasn’t going to survive, but she did. The crew’s anger is justified in my opinion. But in her defense, I also understand why she did it. And she did come clean in the end. I love all of Drummer’s lines in this, and Cara Gee’s acting is mesmerizing ! Fred and her make a great team. And of course our comedic trio, ABC 😂 And yes, now you understand the true horror of the blue goo : it’s not letting us have coffee. We must be rid of it !

I love that Amos goes against Naomi, the guys have every right to be mad at Naomi, but for Amos specifically is a huge development. 50:30 (unless you don't want to know when book 2 ends, ignore this): If I'm not mistaken, it ends with episode 6.

Amazing reaction ladies! It has been an absolute pleasure watching you two react to our beloved show! You both display the emotions we all have about it! You both react so well to the action, comedy and yes the heartbreaking drama! Watching Lola tear up to the goodbye between Chrisjen and Cotyar was very moving! This season is the peak of the show. The Amazon seasons were amazing, but S3 had killer pacing. You rarely see such good writing these days.

In retrospect, I feel like they should have packed the last 3 seasons into two seasons of 13 episodes each (without the « dogs ») It would have kept the pacing similar to season 2 and 3. Of course they couldn’t have known about viruses and other problems plaguing the show, and I still enjoyed it a lot, but yeah season 3 is the peak of the show !

Loved it like always . Don't know did anyone told you this before, but like eps 4 and 5 of Season 2 you should watch EP5&6 together and then again 12 and 13 . You don't have to of course , but most people like to do it since they are almost like part 1and 2 of the same episode . Yes Amos trust Holden now more then Naomi . Remember when Amos was holding gun at Holden in ep2 of season 1 asking Naomi what to do ( later Holden had gun pointed at him when Martians were boarding ) and now James is his compass . Also when Avasarala was visiting James mother in season 1 she was holding Don Quixote , because that was Jimmy favorite book growing up and that is connected with that conversation he had with Prax . Kind of forgot how great Holden is . Actually when all is sad and done I think Holden is my 3rd favorite character behind only Amos and Drummer . For long time he was 5-6 , but after one boss movie he did later in the show I bump him up .

Have loved your reactions so far, but I really can't understand ignoring what Naomi did and pretending like she can do no wrong just because she's a belter. She told a huge lie to everyone. Then after lying to them she made one of the dumbest decisions she could possibly make regarding what to do with the sample that wouldn't have even existed anymore without her lies. On top of that she had the nerve to keep getting mad at Holden for almost catching her in her BS. The rest of the crew would have to be insanely stupid to trust her in any way at this point, and if anything they aren't as mad at her as they should be. Alex was also absolutely right about her decision potentially killing a ton of people. We already see Fred working with Dawes to try to weaponize the protomolecule. If they succeed it wouldn't take long for one of the factions to decide to use it against Earth and/or Mars. Billions would die. Their anger towards her is more than justified. Your defense of her as if they are doing something wrong makes no sense whatsoever.

One thing i never understand when watching expanse reactions is... nobody ever has any idea where or what any of the celestial bodies mentioned are. but they never bother to look it up either.

It doesn't bother me much, but you raise an interesting point: people watching sci-fi shows have been trained that this kind of stuff doesn't matter. Planets / moons / etc. are just random places randomly in space, and how far apart they are, or how long it takes to travel to them, has no consistency in the show: everything travels at the Speed of Plot. The fact that that is different in The Expanse (even more so in the books than in the show, to be fair), and that space itself by extension becomes one of the main characters in the show, is one of the reasons I love it so much.

Io, the most mispronounced moon in the system. American pronunciation: "Eye-Oh". Like it was a set of initials. But in reality, it's a proper name from Greek mythology, so it should be pronounced using the classic vowel sounds. Unlike the American vowels, with the ever-present dipthong ("Ay, Ee, Eye, Oh, You"), the classic vowels are "Ah, Eh, Ee, Oh, Oo". So, in a name composed of two classic vowels and no consonants, the proper pronunciation would be "Eeoh." (If you were in a hurry, you could probably get away with "Yo!") All the characters in this show, of course, use the American pronunciation. Go figure.

Chrisjen sent Kenzo to kill Holden. Bobbie sees the the Roci as a Martian ship captured by her enemies, Earthers and Belters. Some on the Roci are eager to take revenge on Earthers, some of them on Martians. When you are talking about the two crews magically meeting, what do you expect? Everybody coming together for a big hug or what...?

Chrisjen did not send Kenzo to kill Holden; she sent Kenzo to figure out what was going on with the Belters and the Roci. He was already on Tycho doing industrial espionage; Chrisjen just had him re-tasked. The person who sent the hit-team after Holden was NOT Chrisjen; she opposed the decision. Errinwright sent them.

You guys drive me crazy always saying that everyone has the proto molecule. Two people have it... Mao and Fred and that is it. If the governments of Earth and Mars knew about the proto molecule they would not have tested it on a belter colony as they have laws in place that would prevent that. You are also ignoring the fact that the OPA has legitimate terrorist elements in it that were completely willing (and even tried) to send nuclear missiles at the earth which would have killed billions. Fred is the last person who should have the proto molecule for the simple reason that he is surrounded by people who would be perfectly willing to do their worst with it. Learn from history... Fred had Cortazar (the proto molecule scientist) and Dawes took him from right under his nose. He also has the missiles and only didn't lose those to another belter faction because the crew of the Rocinante stepped in. Why you would think that something that dangerous is safe in the chaos that is the belt is completely ignoring things that you already observed.

At this point in the show the viewer does not have enough information to know who has the protomolecule or not. In fact in the S2 finale Naomi says that Earth and Mars have it and now the Belt does too. The crew of the Roci thinks both governments have it, as well as Fred. And at this point the viewer knows this and that both governments were bidding for the hybrids, and now Errinwright is still lined up to get them, somehow. That doesn't preclude either government having a sample. We only learn definitively that **SPOILERS** .... ....they don't have their own samples later on.

@@Brendissimo1 I said the governments do not have it which I stand by. You just saw in this very episode Errinwright lie and implicate Crisjen to the head of the Earth government. If Earth (the government) had a sample they would have to have gotten it from Mao and the head of the UN would be aware of that relationship being the head of the government of Earth. Further, the Martian strike team on Ganymede was sacrificed in what was effectively a sales demo for a weapon developed by a private corporation. Protogen had the only samples known to exist as was evident by the Martian navy trying to figure out what happened at Phoebe station. Further, in the meeting Mao had with Errinwright he was clear that he was looking for someone to help fund his research and didn't care if it was Earth or Mars so he is not willingly surrendering his position of being the only holder of the proto molecule. We have every reason to believe that only Protogen and the sample now held by Fred are the only ones to exist.

@@Brendissimo1 I would also like to add that the Earth and Mars governments were not bidding on the hybrids. In fact, the governments were not even officially aware of it. Shadow entities inside the governments were illegally bidding on the hybrids directly with a private corporation running the sales demo. Errinwright is not operating with the support of the UN backing his actions, he is completely rogue in everything he is doing. Also, if the Martian government was complicit in what was going on with the hybrid, Errinwright killing the Martian ambassador would provide him with no leverage over Mao as he would still have the entire Martian government to continue to negotiate with. Errinwright killing the Martian ambassador and forcing Mao to only deal with him is proof that these negotiations were unsanctioned on the Martian side.
