25:10 It just struck me for the first time as you were saying that. All the gifts to each other and the connection with the snake and Adam and Eve. The gifts are the temptation much like the apple! The ring to keep Carmella happy and quiet, the gun and the lit paper to keep Jackie pursuing the gangster lifestyle, the club to make establish another Mafia terrritory, the money to Melfi so that Tony keeps on living the way he does in good conscience. In surface good deeds that lead to bad outcomes.

It really doesn't get much worse than the previous episodes. Some wild stuff does happen throughout the series, but those episodes were definitely the worst.

The more the show go's on the more i find tony and carmella such hypocrites. He constantly cheats and sleeps around. But gets mad at Jackie doing the same. Carmella gets more upset about tony sleeping around. But from the start she allowed it. If you didnt want that should have said that at the start of your marriage. Cant get upset or mad about it decades later if you just allowed it for that long.

It didn’t make the KZbin cut, but when Tony and Gloria are talking at the zoo, at one point she says “poor you.” Pay attention to Tony’s reaction: he glances off into the distance as if he’s heard that before. He has: his mother.

I think it's important not to confuse mental with emotional instability. Mentally unstable people can have problems functioning in life, and it's treated as an illness. Emotionally unstable people cab function at all levels in a society, be super intelligent, highly successful, but there emotions can take over with any trigger and anything can happen. Tony is definitely attracted to emotionally unstable women, but I think many people, men and women, have survived a 'crazy ex' or have been the 'crazy-ex'. Annabella Sciorra!!!! OMG! She is one of those women that cemented my infatuation with Italian women, haha!!! Her affair with Tony feels like it will burn bright, but when it burns out, pure trouble! Jackie Jr. feels destined for a bad death, another person seduced by having other people do his work. On the othher hand, I do have hope for A.J. He's in a bad environment, but he doesn't have they type of violence in him, that type of anger.

Personally I think mental and emotional instability are inextricably linked and that emotional instability is a symptom of mental instability.

Tony does want Meadow to end up with someone like Jackie Junior. Neither does Carmela. Don't mistake Tony's attention to Jackie Jr as approval. Tony just wants to control the situation because he knows Jackie Jr is going to get into the life and will fail bc Jackie Jr is pretty stupid. The common element between Christopher and Jackie Jr is that they are both dumbasses. Basically there is no difference between Noah and Jackie Jr in Tony's eyes.
@philmakris8507Күн бұрын
Notice that Jackie Jr is never shown taking Meadow to the theater and museums and culture. (It ain't happening). Like Lola said "in the back seat".
@philmakris8507Күн бұрын
Lola's theory* about Tony being attracted to crazy women is too far fetched. It simply he's thinking with his dick. (*way too Freudian)

She's worse. At least the guys are at the front end, they know where it comes from. Carmela pretends it isn't blood money even though she knows it is. And she's not only dishonest about her status, she's also a snob. The therapist laid it down plain and simple.

There is a chain of Strip clubs around the states that has the name Crazy Horse. Calling Adriana's club Crazy Horse implies a level of sleaziness by the writers. I.e. amyplace called Craxy Horse is a place of less than legitimate business dealings going on.

Sometimes graphic scenes and plots help drive the story, push a narrative and build characters, just look at how you feel about Ralphie now, how you sympathize and delve into melfys psyche, and Tony's response and thoughts to those events. Also it's a bit hypocritical to not bat an eye when male characters get brutalized, murdered, beat, bullied ect ect lol, I can understand the grape scenes being shocking to a female that I won't argue even if there was a point to it, but the beating of a stripper in 1 episode? It's horrible yes, but it's meant to be.

@AJ022320 сағат бұрын
I don't think it's hypocritical not to bat an eye at men suffering violence in film but to be disturbed by the same violence enacted on a woman. That's not hypocrisy, imo it's a completely natural biological response.
