I love your enthusiasm, but... Decades? You mean ever! This blows everything out of the water. With the exception of the protomolecule everything else is the *real* future, unless we destroy ourselves in the process, or lock ourselves on the planet due to space debris.

Battlestar Galactica was pretty good. The Expanse is reaching for that title but not yet there. But I am very optimistic it will. It has one of the biggest budget in TV currently, probably gonna get a bigger budget next season. I give season 3 a 10/10.

And it is about as obscure as Shepard vision. Hope Miller is able to figure out and explain. BTW is totally unrealistic, that means it has been speeded up and adapted for Holden ability to understand. Anything in a stellar system will take ages to happen. The cloudy thing obscuring them with a "boom" would be MUCH slower (and obviously silent). A star going nova by doing anything in its interior will do so in minutes, likely hours or days, not seconds.

I feel like Anna's character is basically any of us if we suddenly woke up in that world. Always completely confused of what is happening. It's like she's living a freaking nightmare all the time and she's wondering if she's gonna wake up.
@TheKurtkapan346 жыл бұрын
yeah. love the actor that plays her but i couldn't find her introductory arc satisfying. I don't know if it's same in the books but putting her on a ship near the ring was a great idea.

Problem is that the actress is the killer of shows..... she comes in when the show is on its way out. I am glad Amazon picked it up.... but they need to ditch her.
@blackettcharlie6 жыл бұрын
In the book she is only introduced when she is leaving to go to the ring. None of the arc with the Secretary General and his speech, though I did find that interesting. Also Bobbie doesn't go to the ring in the books. The show seems to be more focused on introducing big characters earlier (Bobbie, Anna and Avasavarala all featured before their appearances in the books) and maintaining the same characters for longer, which makes sense for TV purposes.
@Abhishekvhegde6 жыл бұрын
I still don't know what's her actual character and purposes are
@giannicomoretto6 жыл бұрын
In TV you cannot add and remove characters at will, park them for seasons, and bring them back later on. Actors need to have some job to do, continuous contracts and so on. Is it also very confusing to have too many persons to follow, you cannot explore them in some decent depth, or add some background story as in a book. So less characters condensing more book characters in one, and more continuous appearance. Less realistic, Expanse universe is big and it makes no sense to have so few key people, but the only way for a show.

And it's all the fault of some trigger happy martian, and Mars is totally never gonna own up for it. I mean geez Holden was unarmed - you along with 3 others are wearing a power-armor suit. @kristopherhall9716 жыл бұрын
The behemoth is built with spin gravity in mind though, none of the other ships were. The larger your surface the less you have to spin to make the same amount of spin gravity. Since the UNN and MCRN warships are smaller and sleeker, they would have to spin to amount that they would practical fall apart in order to produce 1g.
@Thorgon-Cross6 жыл бұрын
Kristopher: By what logic? If it is spinning to make 1g then the forces on the ship is only......wait for it....1G! Seeing as they can withstand at least 15g i think worrying about just one is bit silly.

and just think the ship was traveling "slow" at the time, 44mph turns into a 60 foot fall for example, so everyone in the ship essentially fell 60 feet or more into the ceiling.

In the book the deceleration took several seconds. So the fall was 60 feet, but to a soft surface, that keeps decelerate you for seconds. Bad, very bad, but not SO bad. If you are lucky you could survive without fatal injuries

MrPukestick Well holden isn't any less insufferable. I know the station is important, but him insisting on completing the circuit in front of trigger-happy Marsians is what precipitated the mass decel. The Mars guy was to blame but he was following orders, as was Bobbie. This just makes me more worried about Holden and the crew, they're going to be blamed for all this
@MikMoen6 жыл бұрын
This show is the thing that taught me how fucked you are if you're injured in space. Hilarious how it's up to a fictional TV show to do that instead of, oh I dunno, our Education System? All those Science Courses?
@davidk13085 жыл бұрын
Except that "all those science courses" are teaching things that are actually (potentially) relevant, save for maybe astronomy. Humanity isn't really at a point where medical knowledge in space matters. The average Joe isn't going up into space, so it'd be more like useless trivia for them. In the future, that could obviously change, as more and more people go there. And it could get included in the curriculum as something that most people should know in a general sense, but may or may not have an effect on their life. Right now though, it's not needed.
@blusafe12 жыл бұрын
Why would the general education system need to teach kids about medical emergencies in a zero G environment? Here, even a trained pastor and nurse had no clue.
@Jaydee-wd7wr2 жыл бұрын
It’s incredible how people can simultaneously argue that the education system doesn’t teach anything important and advocate for it teaching advice that will literally never be useful in our lifetimes.

love this show, ships should have a section with some artifice gravity, at least a med bay.
@lsq78336 жыл бұрын
Stefano Aguila that would require an entire rotating section and would require the structure of the entire ship to be built around it. Not very practical when designing spaceships that are designed to run at an almost constant acceleration anyway.
@stefanoaguila27446 жыл бұрын
Isq78 Wasn't thinking the whole ship just one section...
@stefanoaguila27446 жыл бұрын
Isq78 why wouldn't that work even if the ship is at a constant acceleration?
@stefanoaguila27446 жыл бұрын
Constant-acceleration drives Constant acceleration is notable for several reasons: It is a fast form of travel. When ergonomics are considered, they are the fastest form of interplanetary and interstellar travel. Constant acceleration creates its own artificial gravity to the benefit of passengers, who may thus be spared from having to deal with the effects of microgravity. However, constant acceleration is an inefficient use of fuel and energy, and is not used in existing spaceflight systems. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_travel_using_constant_acceleration
@thakillman76 жыл бұрын
Spin gravity would only work when the ship isn't under acceleration. If were, then gravity would be under an angle in the drum and it would be an even bigger pain.
@rageagaintstheNWO6 жыл бұрын
So, no people who got torn in half or decapitated from the massive decel (at least in this clip). Guess the budget didn't allow it.
@bonicica6 жыл бұрын
It wasn't as massive deceleration as the first guy's. They went much slower.
@PrograError6 жыл бұрын
they ain't belted and also not that fast... it's like you're on a roller coaster going down the hill at over *200km/h* and suddenly the whole coaster brakes in *1.5m*, so from 200km/h it goes 0km/h while you're belted in. that's some huge G-forces acting on you. if you ain't dead, you're half-dead with the amount of injury you got in ya body. but even with the speed they going, with the sudden unintended decel, they are lucky if they are alive... remember it's trust gravity, which meant the ship is like a building with the stories as the decks.
@kristopherhall9716 жыл бұрын
In the books even with going slower, it was described as much worse than this. I mean imagine hitting the ceiling suddenly at like 50mph for no reason.

Anna is not part of any high level decisions.
@user-sp9hp1tj7v6 жыл бұрын
Not scientifically accurate. In zero-g, you could easily spin a person in mid-air and the centrifugal force would pull the blood away from an injured area.
@pr3cious1934 жыл бұрын
And how do you expect them to spin hundreds of injured people inside a ship that was designed for linear gravity due to acceleration and not spin gravity. Think before you speak so you don't sound silly.
