Very few pentultimate moments in modern fiction, "You're not that guy." Amos to Prax is one of them.

I love all the foreshadowing payoff and symbolism. Mao bows to Christjen, but she is also wearing Julie’s suit. Bobbie’s second scene is arm wrestling her own armor, and that is what saves her life when she lifts the gun with no servos.

Notice that when Bobbie shoots and finishes off Katoa, red blood comes out. He was almost completely changed but there was still just a little bit of human left in him which may be why that final salvo was fatal to him.

In the book infected people were called "vomit zombies" for obvious behavioural reasons. Also the goo was brown. But I like the blue theme for protomolecule in the show.

the show-runners decided that Zombies of any kind were pretty much over-done by this point in TV and film media so they toned down that aspect massively (though it was in the books as the infection progression was modeled quite closely on real-life Ebola). Also, brown reads a lot better than it looks on TV in generally low light conditions.

Swarmy doc guy just broke Prax, he's like, "Amos hand me some canned chicken so I can talk to this doctor who just saved my daughter!" Prax ain't buying it.

I was a bit bugged that everyone except Bobbie doffed their helmets. I'd have kept mine on. On the Agatha King, remember that there's no magic gravity...everyone on Agatha is weightless because its thrust has been cut. Prax began sweating so heavily because he realized at that moment what he was going to do to Strickland. "I am that guy" must be the most easily predictable line in television...which would normally be a sign of poor writing. But in this case, the writers had set us up with such anticipation, we would have been disappointed not to hear it. This was a one-two emotional punch, first "...my best friend in the whole world" and then Amos proving the point by saving his best friend from losing his morality. Remember Strickland had said that the hybrids made from the special kids would retain their brain functions (at least longer). When Bobbie shot its brain stem, it splattered red blood. What was the hybrid looking at? Some people say it retained enough of Katoa to be taken in awe of being out in the open. Others think it was responding to the "up" command from the Protomolecule mother lode on Venus. Book Three ahead. It's going to be squeezed into half a season, so it goes quickly. This is my own favorite season only because it has two book finales, and these writers know how to write book finales. We will go to Mars...at some point.

Don't let other people's views of the seasons inform yours. The first three seasons were broadcast and released weekly, 4-6 were streamed, with 4 being dumped all at once. The change impacted a lot of people's experiences with the show.

@@josephkrengel A smart adversary would open air locks to vent areas of the station strategically...as Holden actually did. I'd keep my helmet with me, if not on.

@@josephkrengel I'm not sure what part of my post you're referring to. I watched the series first-run as it was originally aired...that's what my experience was and the context of my post. Even having rewatched it on Amazon several times, as seasons go, the second season is still my favorite only because it has two book finales.

The team soon learned that the resistance was not going to be major. You are more aware of threats in your environment with proper 360 degree hearing. A full helmet impedes that massively. On balance, you take it off.
