Actually, in that scene at the meeting it is. The guy turns away from her and says to the other one _"that's the one who killed our team on Ganymede"_ (which is nonsense of course).

I forgot to post it a couple weeks ago with the 3x13 reaction, but here's my favorite quote from the Abaddon's Gate novel: Holden was starting to feel like they were all monkeys playing with a microwave. Yes, Avasarala's husband had to be recast because there was too much time between the end of season 3 and the beginning of shooting season 4. The original actor was already in another contract. Also, I want to say that it's really nice that you appreciate Naomi the way you do. So many reactors that I've seen really didn't like her and I could never understand why.

I think there are two problems with Naomi Nagata. Firstly, the character is underdeveloped in the first three TV series, and she is neither likeable nor relatable. Compare her to Chrisjen Avasalara, Bobbie Draper and Carmina Drummer who are all very strong characters, are all very well developed, and very likeable. Secondly, the actress playing Naomi (Dominique Tipper) is, in my opinion, the least convincing of all the main cast. Compare her to Shohreh Aghdashloo who knocks it out of the park as Chrisjen Avasalara, for example. However, that all changes in series 4 and 5 where both the character of Naomi and the actress playing her come in to their own.

⁠@@stevebosworth5462I think it is difficult for some people to relate to her in the early seasons because she keeps so much of who she is closed off. While Amos does the same, you still get glimpses or ideas of what his past is before it’s revealed. I think Naomi/Dominique Tipper really come together in Season 3, at least for me. We see more of her vulnerability and her recognizing/making amends for her behaviors. She becomes more relatable as the series goes on. Her best is absolutely Season 5. Impeccable. Quite honestly, I think there is an audience divide based on gender/specific life experiences in how Naomi is perceived.This is purely anecdotal, but it seems men (both reactors and commenters) are especially critical and lacking empathy for her (which is why it’s so refreshing when Warp empathizes with Naomi & tries to understand even when he may disagree with some of her decisions). I’ll avoid spoilers but I think there’s clearly a lot of people who luckily haven’t experienced some of the things Naomi and unfortunately many other people have….and how these very real things changes how you connect/interact/trust others and impacts your decision-making. In addition to all the fictional context of being a Belter and what that means in that world. By no means is she perfect and I love that! She is a flawed character - as everyone is on the show. It is more realistic and more enjoyable/relatable…more human than a caricature of a woman who can’t do anything wrong.

As for the last trilogy: afaik there is currently no sign of having the final three books filmed *but* we currently have an intermediate story going in graphic novel form (I preordered every issue) which might very well be a kickoff point for the final trilogy (and to a degree is intended as such) and the production company is still fiddeling around with the rights to a final trilogy, so something might come of it if we're lucky. Honestly I’d love to see an animated version of shows like this as the effects budget is just so expensive and it is kind of a niche (if fanatically devoted) audience.

To my understanding the owners of IP (actual writers of the book) are mega smart and have a great contract in place where they are able to ship the IP after certain time period since Amazon created last show (similar deal that Marvel had with Fox etc where they were obligated to created content or lose the rights). That period is suppose to end now so they can start looking for new studio who would develop new Expanse episodes. There are few "spin offs" floating around but nothing solid since there arent really that much data that would solidify that spin offs would be successfull thus at least a video game from TellTale Games was produced to try the market. Also without going in to spoiler territory the time it takes to develop a season 7 plays for us in terms of believeability ... Age wise meaning :)

"Only Christian could go to Mars." I caught that reference...from the first time it was uttered. Not many people liked the re-cast of Arjun. This actor, Michael Benyaer, is a much more forceful and less gentle than the earlier actor, Brian George. There will be scenes later that I'd really love to see how George would have portrayed Arjun. When the show was announced cancelled, Brian George had pretty quickly found another gig and was under that contract when the show was picked up by Amazon. I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Bobbie's story on Mars was actually a separate novella. The fourth primary book did not continue her story.

As regards adapting the final three books for TV, I gather that Amazon's rights will expire soon (not sure exactly when), so the show's producers will be free to strike a deal elsewhere, unless Amazon takes up the option in the meantime. There are so many important plot threads in this series. The conflict between Murty (I love how Amos keeps getting his name wrong) and the belters is a micrcosm of that between the inners and the belters. This, and the seemingly seperate storylines of Bobby Draper and Klaes Ashford are very much intertwined, especially when you take into account events that took place early on in season one. Much of this pays off (big style) in season five. Finally, remember in season three when Holden says to proto-Miller "Whats with the stupid f***ing hat"? Well, stick a pin in that.

Inaros. So I'm too lazy to research the ethymology but I heard it in a video game called Warframe. The character of that name was a good guy, kind off, he stopped kidnapping children for his bosses eventually. (I had no idea what else to comment)
