Yep. Filat Kothari. He's the one who put the spike through Havelock, and who Anderson Dawes hid in an OPA safe house, afterwards informing Miller where Kothari was located. At the time Miller refused to go to the safe house and take revenge on Kothari because he didn't want to owe Dawes a favor. However Miller didn't forget and he didn't forgive.

After they got their samples, they wanted it to grow faster to infect the station faster to study it.

As noted, one of the plot-lines is a noir detective mystery; in those the "good guys" aren't all that good and, as we saw, Julie had the same gray morality as everybody else. While she had positive motives, Julie's willingness to engage in piracy makes her something of a moral relativist -- and not so much the "innocent" as Miller perceived her. In noir detective fiction, bad things happen to people who choose to do bad things, no matter their motives. Episodes 4 and 5 of Season 2 end the first book, "Leviathan Wakes." I realize you're about two episodes ahead on Patreon, but be sure to watch those two episodes back-to-back.

It feels more like the middle of a season than a finale because they only adapted part of the first book in this season. the actual finale ends up being the fifth episode of season 2, which is weird but works really well.

The actor Elias Toufexis playing the spy Kenzo had auditioned for the Amos Burton role. Wes Chathan won that role, but the producers were so impressed with Elias that they invented the role of Kenzo in the series for him.

@@remliqa Nope, he wasn't in the books. It's been a while since I read the first ones (rather, listened) and I was doing it as I was falling asleep, so I kept having to go back to parts I last remembered listening to, lol, but I don't remember there being a whole spy on the ship plotline at all. And I know Avasarala's POV wasn't in the first book at all, so if there was a spy, you as a reader wouldn't have known about it. Again, if I remember it correctly. Honestly, the books are great in that there's a LOT of differences between the book and the show, but not in a bad way. It's like reading and watching the same story but in an alternate universe where a lot of stuff that happens in the show also happens in the books but most of it in a totally different way. If that makes sense. The big plot points are the same, but the journey getting there is quite different for a lot of the plotlines. So if you ever read them, it will be like getting the same story twice but with lots of surprises. And, imo, the show honestly does some plots a lot better. I think the writers of the books may have used the show as a way to refine certain parts and make them even better - again, in my opinion. Some of the characters look totally different too! Amos isn't nearly as good looking, lol, and he's a middle aged guy in the books. And Naomi is a SUPER tall white girl with, if I remember right, red hair. She's taller than Holden in the books! I love Naomi's actress in the show, but I always sort of wish they'd gotten some really tall girl in the show just to see the juxtaposition with Holden, lol. But I get it - not ALL belters could be really, really tall in the show. Not enough really tall actors.

I mostly know Elias from his excellent VO work, particularly as Adam Jensen in the Deus Ex games. It's interesting to see the real person. I have to admit, I pictured Nolan North incorrectly, based on his voice(s).

@@LadyBeyondTheWall Didn't Naomi described as having African and Asian feature in the books? Particularly having distinctively "Asian eyes "? Funnily enough Lily Gao who plays Nancy Gao in the series would be the closest match to book Naomi both in looks and height . Finding real life actors with right body type like in the books would be very hard , such real life two meter tall Samoan actress for a certain main character in the books for example.

This episode is excellent, and it's just the beginning of the fun! Notice how in the pachinko parlour, after they kill the security guard, as the camera pulls away, there is a "Everyone's a winner on Eros!" sign prominently in view. I hope it was intentional. The way this show was written and executed, I would bet that it was. Both of those things are EXCEPTIONALLY done, in case my opinion was not clear. :) I read that Miller threw up so much, not because it was in the script, but because Thomas Jain (the actor who played Miller) thought it was funny to keep doing it.

@ It’s hard to say. He also expresses some regrets later about them not helping more. But it doesn’t phase him really. It’s also the first time we see his very close and personal connection to kids in a position of exploitation. Even if we only see it for a split second. Honestly… that guy is damned lucky Amos didn’t blow his brains out right then and there lol.

Yeah..that's something, isn't it? The entire station? I think they explain why more later, but damn. Imagine peeps that just don't care. We're just now starting to see the threads of the conspiracy going on, and Avasarala's doing her "Earth First" stuff to hide her true motives at this point. It is REALLY awesome how mixed everything is. Even just the names show people have lived in various places and cultures have mixed. A lot of issues we see now with gender, race, etc. seem to be gone in the future. So as dark as it is it's at least hopeful in that way.
