13:00 I really like how mature the adults in the expanse are around adult stuff, it becomes ACTUAL drama, not Teenage like drama, so refreshing

Yes. It’s such a grown up/mature show: It doesn’t proselytize like so many shows now. It doesn’t devalue the female characters by overuse of sex or sexuality or relationship drama. It shows women with actual power handling that power in such a refreshing and non-stereotypical way. The actors have great growth in the craft through the series, the characters have such great growth and arcs, it’s just so good.

I recently was rewatching Earth: Final COnflict, and noticed that the actors for Sorrento-Gillis and Souther worked together, like literally in story, on an episode in like the 4th year of that show. Amazing who you can spot in older shows.

6:26 It’s such a bittersweet message. Yes, it’s lovely to hear that Melas is proud to be Alex’s son, _but_ the “join you and fight for Mars” bit is sad. That’s not what Alex is doing, and at this point, patriot or not, I don’t think it’s what Alex wants
@TheChromeRoninАй бұрын
Though Alex IS a patriot, but that doesn’t mean slavishly following his government, in means a LOVE for his world.

"I was gonna say 'what pay?'" In the books, they're all fairly well-off at this point because Prax did a crowdfund campaign and got an outpouring of support from both Martians and Earthers (remember, Prax is a Belter, the lowest of the low in this civilisation). I forget what he needed the money for, but he got so much he decided to pay the Roci crew a substantial sum for helping him.

That moment Alex's son messages him is just heartwarming to hear, as a father.
@MattNolanCustomАй бұрын
@@3Kings_Industries true, but not without a little knife-twist of sadness. His son is already brainwashed into wanting to fight for Mars. Can't we learn to do something different for a change? It's there in Alex's reaction, the twinge in response to that detail.

Man, can’t wait for the next one. It’s my favorite of the whole series, I think. Although there are so many great moments throughout the series, so it’s hard to choose.

'She's a very clever girl', no Naomi is a Mary Sue that just gets more insufferable as the series go's on.
@gregdesouza17Ай бұрын
A Mary Sue is a character that is overly perfect. She was LITERALLY taking accountability for a MISTAKE, by making herself vulnerable in hope to make amends.
@CeiStockport-nx2qiАй бұрын
@gregdesouza17. She handed a 'weapon ' capable of AT LEAST wiping out Earth's biosphere and repurposing it do God knows what (Eros was 100,000 people's worth of biomass and it ended up turning physics upside down). Not only did she repeatedly lie to her friends she gave it to a massively factionalized organisation that has plenty of people who are happy to genocide Inners. Her punishment? Everyone gives her the cold shoulder for a few episodes then it's fine. I had a shitty life is no excuse for what she did (And that's not even going in to the later season's)
@CeiStockport-nx2qiАй бұрын
@gregdesouza17. I must have missed the apology and responsibility taking for handing the most dangerous substance in the solar system to a group containing genocidal maniacs. Must have been when I was listening to her whine about her life choices.
