This is a short film on a Tigress called Krishna (T-19) from Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in India. The film reflects her high level journey over the last half decade. The film has clips of her second and third litter, the inexperience of her current sub-adult cubs, Krishna's phenomenal experience in executing a hunt and the strategy behind it (albeit the chase happens in tall grass), the support that she gets during the hunt, the interaction with her sub-adult cubs during the 24 hours post the hunt. All of this has been put together in this short film of less than 15 minutes. A Tigress called Arrowhead(T-84), one of Krishna's cubs from her second litter takes over the most prominent and picturesque territory of Ranthambore from Krishna and this forces Krishna to move to another territory and thats where the third litter happens. The hunt also happens in this new territory of Krishna's.
Apart from Krishna's journey over the last 5 years or so, the main highlight of the film is the experience of Krishna in being a master Hunter. It shows her patience, strategy and tactic to conduct a successful hunt. During the final moments of the Hunt, there was complete silence for about a minute after Krishna let the Sambar Deer pass by and just continued to watch it even after the Deer had its back at Krishna. Krishna waited for the opportune moment and then charges and grabs the Deer by her jaws. The female cub of Krishna who was in the vicinity hears the loud cry of the Sambar Deer and knows that her mother has caught a deer. The female cub joins the action and both Krishna and the cub complete the Hunt. As is a tradition post hunt, Krishna goes to call her other 2 male cubs and gets them to the kill. The entire family spend the 24 hours after the kill in consuming the kill. During this period, it is wonderful seeing the intimate interactions of the family. It just shows how beautiful a Tiger family is.
This is my first attempt as an amateur wildlife photographer and film maker. The film has clips from 2015 to 2019 and has taken final shape during the Lockdown period of Covid-19 in India. Please do watch and subscribe to my Channel if you like the film.
The movie is mostly shot in 4k mode.
