It's really scary when you think that three days later they'd be gone. RIP to such a rocking band.

Wow. I walked into a record store in Bellingham, WA this evening and heard this really awesome song being played. After a few minutes I asked the guy at the counter who this was and he told me "The Exploding Hearts". I am from the NY area and had never heard of them. After listening to a couple of their songs I approached the guy again and asked him if he had the CD. He said he didn't think so. As he was checking I asked where they were from. He said Portland but they died. I was taken aback. He then told me the story. Great sound. It is a sad day when you find a talented group playing incredible music that still resonates after all this time only to find out about their tragic end. Very sad.

I too am from the East Coast, and got into these guys wayyyy too late. They were around while I was in high school, and I think my high school band at the time, well, we would've loved these guys. But unfortunately, being on the East Coast, I had only heard of them last year at the twenty year anniversary mark of Guitar Romantic. Such an incredible band that was taken from us way too soon. RIP. Let's get our Modern Kicks!!

Very honored to be discovering this gem of a band right now. Its rare to find a band where you listen to their songs, a live ta boot, and are completely in love with their sound. These guys had something special. 💔

I can't speak of most albums the way I can about Guitar Romantic. Its been played thousands of times by me but it never loses it's...fun. It gives me a similar feeling as Op Ivy's Energy, Although obv not the same sound. It's raw, It's powerful, It's catchy, It's fun and it will go down in my life as one of the best albums to ever exist. It's tragic we lost these guys but at least they left such a loud and fun memory behind. Enjoy your life and have some fun with what you do. It's what this is all about. Cheers for the video.

They were my favorite band when they came out. i wanted to go to this concert but my mom wouldn't let me use the car to drive to san francisco. i could have whined or pleaded to get the car, because that usually worked, but i figured, "I'll see them the next time they're in the bay area I guess." a few days later I get an email notification from someone that collected emails from the guestbook on their website. The email subject said that The Exploding Hearts were killed. It was so shocking and random I couldn't believe it. Everyone that got that email has to feel like it was our generations version of The Day The Music Died or something.

@@MarcoBertolo It is one of my lifes greatest regrets. It's true. I don't know if the band hung out or talked to fans after the show, but I definitely would have gone up to them just to tell them how much I loved their music, and to witness that show live... man... it kills me

One of the few bands who had the talent, songwriting prowess, and live powers to possibly save rock & roll...They were simply too good for this world and ten years after the tragic accident (which took the lives of three of the four members of the band) Exploding Hearts are still gaining popularity and influencing countless young bands. Despite the immortality of their musical legacy I for one will never cease to wonder what may have been...One of the TOP 5 rock bands of the last 15-20 years.

Super sad to see a band on the cusp of actualizing their dreams and it not coming about the way they'd planned it. It's a terrible thing, this also happened to the band Her's. Glad the remaining member Terry decided to play music again.
