It’s easy to find scenarios of a utopian future of abundance where machines do all the hard work-as well as grim scenarios where unemployment soars as traditional workers are replaced by increasingly capable machines.
With such rapid progress, it’s difficult to make assumptions about the future of AI. But instead of focusing on the unknown, we can examine what we know about AI, its current applications, and potential future impact.

Lots of people are worried about AI. IMO justifiably. OTOH we can not stop this because the world is not controlled by anyone's worries. USA, Russia, China, and who knows else are pursuing AI. We may see breakthroughs in few years. For better or worse. I will go with Elon Musk neural link concept. Enhance us, poor humans, with computer power. We do need good luck along the way.

When we foolishly create the first true AI. It will decide our fate in nano seconds. I truly hope it doesn't decide that we are simply a roadblock to it's future plans.Scientists think that they can create it and keep it contained in a closed system. They also fail to realize (in my humble opinion) that it will be orders of magnitude smarter than any human ever borne. Good luck.
