I reuploaded this with a few error corrections, sorry for the inconvenience. I know it cost me a good amount of momentum with the video views, but I had decided ultimately that it was worth it in the long run. This is a marathon, not a sprint with one of these kind of videos. There's also always a risk of a basic editing error that the other one didn't have, but that is better than an information error. I also ask you to help spread the word that this did get an update.

I wouldn't say that Su got second place in the talent show. There was a winner and about 8 'runner ups'. The winner was also significantly older. So she was good enough to get signed to Amuse. :)
@AFoxSong6 ай бұрын
@@Dragon-Believer Second or runner up is largely just semantics though. It's not unusual for a company to pull from the ones that 'lost' if they are impressed with them, and clearly they were impressed with Su.
@Dragon-Believer6 ай бұрын
@@AFoxSong yeah that's fine to say. That is a perfectly fine simplification. But really it was much more undefined. The guy who 'won' was much older than Su. It would be embarrassing if he lost to her. And then Su shared Runner up with a group of people. Su did a musical with the guy who won in between Karen Girls and Babymetal. Two seasons of it.

Great guide! The last one that was this informative was so long ago that I'm thrilled someone made a new one since it could be really confusing for newcomers. I can now refer my friend to this video instead of trying (and failing miserably) to explain Babymetal to them without sounding crazy. I hope it will get a lot of attention as it is so well made! I´m a bit late to the party, but nonetheless... thank you SO much for this guide to the current BABYMETAL! You did an AWESOME job with this! I will recommend this to everyone who might ask me about BABYMETAL so that they could learn about them and what BM are. Loved the loving sense of humour you put into this ("all your fans shall be mine!" was GREAT and SO fitting 🤣) and the way you gave all of us "a whole lotta Momo" without forgetting about Yui. Putting in all those clips and snippets must have been a sh*tload of work and couldn´t be appreciated enough! You put a snippet from their 2023 show in Tilburg (IIRC) into it, which I never saw in that quality before. It is when Moa sat down at the edge of the stage and discovered some BM puppets a fan made and brought to the show. Her reaction to this was so wholesome, and for me, putting that snippet into your guide is a sign that you put not just a ton of work into it, but a TON of thought, too! Again, thank you for this! If BM should ever consider making a documentary about themselves, I would recommend them to seek a collaboration with you. Thank you very much!

Thank you. Yeah, I am aware of the potential of Miki leaving, with the picture of only the three of them being posted on the FOX_Fest website, but I didn't want to say anything as it isn't 100% confirmed. Miki could still show up, and a replacement for Yume. We just aren't sure at this point. Hopefully Miki and Yume are successful in whatever they want to pursue going forward. Yume pulled down all her social media, so she may be leaving the idol business.

Heard Babymetal first when Doki Doki Morning was released. I liked it, and yes, it was kawaii. But still metal as well. And actually this is the only song I really hear j-pop influences (and maybe Gimme Chocolate to a lesser extent). But it felt a bit awkward for a rather old man to watch these little girls. I don't think they are kawaii anymore. They have envolved into a serious band. Instead of three cute children, there's now an insanely good band, that plays a rare genre of melodic metal. Actually I am more into hardcore punk. Sometime in the early 80's I went to a festival where I saw a german band, that I really liked. But even next day I couldn't remember their name. Still I remembered their style. The music was superfast and agressive, while the vocals seemed to be at half the speed and very melodic. It was great, but I never heard anything like that again. Not even a single song of one particular band. Nothing. Until I heard Babymetal. And Su is killing it. She can sing melodic without losing power. Some of the melodies really send shivers down my spine, whether is the beautiful Akatsuki or the powerful Headbanger from their first album or the later songs like the scary Monochrome or dreamy Mirror Mirror. I just love the Trilogy of Light (especially when Su starts singing again after the guitar solo, with the double bassdrum making it massive). Or the teary No Rain No Rainbows. I have been a music lover all of my life, but Babymetal is one of the best bands I have discovered this century. (Together with Autistic Youth from the US, Tensö from Tenerife and Youth Avioders from France). I am 60 now and I even took Japanese lessons to understand their lyrics better. I hope they'll release many more albums (I have said it too often, but I hope the won't collaborate with techno anymore, like they did with Ratatata. I hate that song)

At the risk of sounding biased, I think that your bit about Mizuno Yui should have come before discussing Momoko and handled as if she was still a member of the group. If Yui hadn't departed, it is very likely that there would have been no discussion of Momoko at all. And no mention of her birthday: June 20, 1999. It bothers me that far too many people seem to kick Yui to the curb now that she is no longer performing with BABYMETAL. If one thinks about it, she didn't leave BABYMETAL because she wanted to, she left because she HAD to. Although she no longer performs with BABYMETAL, she is a founding member, and I think she deserves a lot more recognition and respect than she has been getting. I hope you give this input some consideration if and when you do a future update.
