Alex Lewis, father of one, came down with a common cold in late 2013, which quickly developed into septicaemia and toxic shock syndrome. With less than a 3% chance of survival, doctors fought to save him. From arriving back at his family home and readjusting his relationships, to taking his first steps, this film delves into some of the raw moments that shape his days.
Starting just days after he lost his last limb, the film follows Alex’s incredible journey as he seeks his purpose in life, rebuilds his relationships and reinvents himself.

Hide San why would he be traumatized? Nothing detrimental has happened to the kid or at least we know off. Just cause he is scared now doesn’t mean he’s going to be scared forever. He’s just to young to understand what is happening. When he understands he won’t be afraid anymore.

@@lilo7741It wasn’t that the bacteria evaded his immune system, it was the immune systems reaction to the bacteria that caused the extensive inflammation//sepsis. his immune system was fighting the infection but then at the same time started attacking his normal tissues as well. Tho I understand what you’re saying in regards to wondering WHY a bacteria that is normally harmless caused his immune system to go bonkers. I guess it has something to do w how some people get sick by things that other people have no reaction to- it just depends on how your immune system works.

They lived together, she must really love that guy, I think they are perfect for each other. They have a strong relationship and know when to make a daft joke and it’s not taken wrong. I’m Scottish but I now live in England as my hubby and son are English. Over her when talking about them, if they were married, they would say his wife or her husband, they wouldn’t say partner. I've had this exact thing happen to me in 2017, but luckily I rushed myself to an ER the minute my lips started turning purple. What I thought was a ' cold ' turned out to be a severe double pneumonia with sepsis caused by strep A. How I wasn't able to 'feel' how serious my condition was, is still beyond me. The docs were pretty angry I waited so long, but I honestly thought it was just a bad cold. I didn't even notice my saturation was dropping by the minute. I too had a 2 yr old running around. I came pretty close to dying, but through sheer luck I got out of this unharmed ( well at least for the most, my energy levels still are that of 90 yr old ) after a year of rehabilitation. He's a brave man and I'm so sorry to see the damage this can do. It's heartbreaking and I find this so unfair.

I'd like to ask one question to that man. "are you happy, or are you fighting for her" if the later, I can make her understand. I'd just like to point what I mean is... is he truly happy EXISTING, and being taken care of like a child. or is he truly happy. I watch a man being nursed in the hospital I was in for brain cancer surgery... looking at his eye's while the nurse's changes his diapers was unforgetable. @@ehmehsmeh824 when you grow up you'll realize those things don't matter, your friend isn't your friend if they went with your ex behind your back. There's plenty of people out there so don't waste your time on the ones who toy with you. You might miss "the good ol days" but trust me, those people won't even be in your life when you grow up. As an adult myself, none of my high school pals talk anymore. And I don't know any adult friends who hang out with their "school buddies" think about it, do you know any adults that still see their school friends? Not really. Maybe rarely, because most of the time people just settle for what they can get for a friend. Don't settle. Do with my advice what you will, I just know that I've had the same scenario, getting cheated on and all.. don't get hung up on it, not enough to wish a devil disease on them anyway. Like I said, when you grow up, you'll realize the impact of that statement. As for your friends, their young, sometimes hormones take over and you definitely can't be mad at one and not the other. I wish someone told me not to waste so much effort worrying about other people that have hurt me, and just move on, and get better friends and partners that *actually* make me happy. I just know I wish someone told me this as a teen. I'm now 32, and don't talk to any exes or friends. You grow up, do other things where you make new friends. Especially when you have kids, your world changes, so don't worry, they'll both be history in the scrapbook of your life in years time, mark my words. Good luck young one. Much love. Spread the love, and be happy. Hate takes too much energy. ♥️

watching this amazed me and made me remember my dad. my father died of skin cancer in 2014, in the final stage there was a massive scar on the right side of his head and he looked zombified, he looking like a rotting corps in the final weeks, his eyes were died no shine almost looked like his soul left his body. it was horrible but this documentary made me so happy . he even in his state his family was there for him and stayed by his side even in his state. my family couldn't be in the same room as my dad, the sight of him made them want to cry when i saw him on his deathbed he turned his head slightly like he saw me. he opened his mouth slightly tried to say a word then died minutes later only. almost no one was there for him so when i saw Alex and his family help and support him it made me happy to see a family get through something so terrible.

Since getting married, my husband has been through so much with my health. I’ve had to have my thyroid removed, had trouble stabilizing it with meds, had the thyroid regenerate, had to go through months of infusions for anemia, and then finally breast cancer, the treatments took away everything that made me beautiful, my hair, my long eyelashes, my eyebrows. It made me so so sick. Even though I am in remission, I am still on oral chemo that makes me incredibly sick, and which suppresses my immune system. Through it all, my husband cared for me, loved me, cuddled me, and made me feel as beautiful as ever. It isn’t just the women who stick it through. There are wonderful men out there who are simply amazing. I am so very thankful for my husband.

Instead we should put all our money and attention into supporting the transhumanist movement so we could benefit the people like the person in this video or benefit the whole human race itself.......If you don't know about Transhumanism, I highly recommend that you research about it because it will change the course of humanity....... Transhumanism is simply about augmenting or enhancing our bodies and mind.....thank you for reading my comment and I hope you spread the message and if you're skeptical then just ask me what you're skeptical about, I'm more than happy to answer :)

It's sadly true. Conversely, women are less likely to get divorced if a partner gets sick than if their partner is well! My husband of 25 years left me 6 months ago when I got terribly ill. I was in the hospital for 19 days. He took the money, locked me out of accounts, and badmouthed me to everyone as if I had done something wrong to him! Now he has a lawyer and is trying to take everything. I'm shocked, traumatized and still trying to heal. It's a nightmare I never saw coming. I thought he loved me. He never spoke to me again, but I got one email a few months ago from him that said he wasn't "strong enough" to be with me. Meanwhile, he's trying to take our home and get out of any alimony. I will be destitute if he succeeds.

@@mygirldarby- sounds like he is the one that has lost, he is the one that is in massive denial about the cause of the problems that are in his life. Him. His broken personality and by the sounds of it, possibly undiagnosed mental illnesses or conditions. I hope he fails, i hope you rise and DON'T LET THAT PIG TAKE ANYTHING! Such a short time on the planet, don't let one insecure, idiotic despot make the rest of yours unpleasant. Find your happy place again. It's waiting for you.

@@vpsim have you ever read Job? Have you read the Gospel? Have you ever read the entire Bible? Have you ever read what Christ spoke? Please please please use your head. God is not some genie who makes all well and perfect for you. $1 million for the guy down the street but cancer for the little boy. God can use evil and turn it into a blessing. Christ was literally beaten with His skin torn away and His beard plucked and yet He used Christ to save all of mankind from His wrath. God never promised that you will receive the best. In fact, in John 16:33, He says YOU shall have TRIBULATION but take heart for I have overcome the world. God PROMISED these trials, but these trials may be a blessing. Learn genuine Christian theology. Now I'm asking you, where is your brain in these times?
