@@sup3458I’m a premier league fan, in fact I’ve been a Manchester City fan for 30 years, obviously we’re now a top team… I think these changes are a joke and I love the FA Cup. Getting to go to places like Swindon on a weekend is a stray from the norm and so good. Seeing 6,000 away fans from lower league clubs come to Manchester is great too. The game is being fucked by the authorities, the CL and FA Cup don’t need changing.

​​@@tadhgallen1464Not necessarily, top players are far more fitter than lower league teams, it happens in every game where you have one team far higher in the leagues than the other the lower team just cannot keep up for the full 90 they have to rely on ultra defensive play and a little luck, they provably won't be able to hold on for an extra half hour at the high tempo. Also straight to penalties will be worse as top teams probably practice penalties everyday and have expensive analysis technology to help them improve, something lower league teams do not have.

Palace are no longer a small club so it will be easier for Palace to win as its harder for them to get knocked out by a lower League club and Palace wont want a replay against the top teams, penalties suits them more. The revenue from the FA Cup is small change to them. If anything, teams like Palace benefits the most from this as they dont have European Football to contend with but comfortably survive

As a kid I used to get excited for the FA Cup draws because we were a league one/league two club so it was always exciting to hopefully get drawn against a Premier League team because I never imagined us playing top 6 clubs regularly as AFC Bournemouth being a premier league club was an impossible dream at the time. 🍒

They should market the FA Cup to the US and Canada. We love this, because we love playoffs and knock-out rounds. Winning the FA Cup to us is more impressive than winning the Premiere League, because the former is just a regular season champion. The FA Cup magic is back 😁 If it goes straight to penalties, a lower tier side has more chances of winning. If there are crucial Premier league fixtures on Sunday, a lower tier team has better chances against a premier league team which might just try to rest some important players.

What are you talking about? The original UCL structure is that there is only 1 club in each country that qualifies. Now, it’s 4 English teams and some nations get 2 but what about other nations? They don’t have 1.

1.FA Cup replays didn't occur? In 20/21 season, this rule was even introduced because of the schedule congestion due to the numerous domestic league games being postponed through coronavirus pandemic. 2.FA Cup games to be played midweeks? This was also happened since 19/20 season, but for the fifth round. It was played on the first week of March or the last week of February to accomodate with Premier League's new winter break. Some games on 20/21 season was also played midweek due to the same coronavirus pandemic restrictions. 3.FA Cup Final to be played within Premier League normal weekend? This is obvious. If any clubs participated in the Champions League Final, they must rearranged their games to accomodate with correct time. Also, the FA Cup 24/25 season will be changed not only because the Champions League will now have more games due to the 36 teams without group stage. The next summer in 2025, English clubs will also participated in the new Club World Cup with 32 teams. Last, but not least, the next year's FA Cup Final will be played a week before the PL was concluded because Wembley Stadium hosted the Champions League Final.

The correct approach would have been giving the lower league teams the option choose the venues. I know, sounds impractical but it's not unthinkable and solves the main concern. As for the replays being abolished, in pure footballing sense, that works more in favour of the weaker teams to cause a cupset.

When Man United withdrew from the FA Cup in the 1999- 2000 season. Coz of a mickey 🐭 mouse tournament in South America 💰 they were playing in . That for me was the beginning of the end of the FA cup in my eyes . Man United basically saying they were too big for the competition. Darlington lost in the second round proper but still made the 3rd round draw ( lucky loser) . What a total farce !

I feel like there’s too many trophies and that dilutes what makes trophies so great. There’s so much fighting between which competition/tournament matters more. The original UEFA champions league structure where 1 club in each European nation qualifies. I wish we can still have that but expand to invite more countries. After all, there are a total of 54 European nations. Technically, 55 if you count Russia.

They’ve tried tweaking certain things about the FA Cup before only to revert back soon after. These are a few I can remember 1. Having the 3rd round in December 2. Moving the kick off time of the final to 5pm. 3. Staging the final and Premier League fixtures on the same day. 4. Staging the final before the final round of Premier League fixtures. These all got reversed due to outcry from traditionalists. What I’d love to see is a Champions League place for the winners (but only winners if they win, no runner up getting the spot if the winners have le already qualified) but I think this will never happen

This is the worst decision I have ever heard. What makes the FA cup special is it’s own little quirks and nuances. No other major cup competition in Europe has replays after draws, or the national media coverage of tiny clubs in the lowest tiers of English football. There’s a reason that every footballer would rather win an FA cup than a Premier League, because of it’s unrivalled history.
