A95X did a great job with this box. Don't mind the firmware is not rooted there will be a rooted firmware for it. Root is causing problems for then to get certification in certificates pertaining to safety.

I have been getting steady OTA updates Nick ever since i flashed the box from the original firmware to version 20210427 since then i have had almost 4 other OTAs i just got another one today 20210713 but doesnt appear root access has been given hoping for me OTA updates

If you're looking for complete official Android boxes then go buy one. A Chinese box does have it's advantages given that hardware specs are great and usually the best for running games and video that the boxes support. These boxes need to become legit and recognized globally because they can really just about do almost everything. Thanks for the video 👍

Many people are reporting that the a95x F4 firmware has many bugs when installing Apks and Apps. Did you notice it? Is the a95x F3 more stable?

In my line of work one of the negatives, and the challenges I face, is that I cannot focus on one TV Box for very long. After I create the video I have to move on to another box. This means that I can very well miss problems that can arise from a long term use that was not reflected during the initial video. So I cannot see if I am experiencing problems because am not currently using it. As for the A95X express three firmware, that cannot be used on the F4 because it's not compatible

I connected using HDMI passthrough, but why use optical when HDMI can give you both 5.1 and 7.1 audio? All you have to do is set the receiver to to 5.1 or 7.1 as the need may be. The optical port gives you Dolby Atmos and DTS only. No DTS-X, DTS HD-MA, THX, Dolby Surround or Dolby TrueHD

I have already tried, but there is no Amlogic S905X4 dtb (device tree) released yet. So Armbian cannot start to install until someone releases the dtb for it.

I would go with the TOX1 for its awesome features same as Ugoos with root switch and Dolby TrueHD. I would choose the A95X only if I need AV1 decoding for videos which is not widely used yet.

Yes it is normal to het warm or even hot at times especially if you play a game. Make sure to place it where it can breathe. If you are worried about the heat place it upside-down as a cooling trick.

No official Miracast app on this. It comes with Airscreen app that is SD quality. This is not Android TV OS it's mobile version. The launcher makes it look like the ATV OS. No google assistant only voice search it you have a voice remote. the remote that comes with it is IR.

Comprei logo no lançamento , infelizmente a minha foi comprada logo no lançamento dela e veio um lote com problema no wifi e bluetothh , fazendo o mesmo não funcionar corretamente e super aquecer no local onde tinha na placa os modulo wifi e bluetoofh em conjunto , infelizmente mesmo vendo tutorias de trocar o capacitor que estava trocada ela não funciona corretamente , depois de 5 meses ela começou a reiniciar sozinha e ligar quando quer , mesmo mudando sua rom ela persistia no erro, bati muita cabeça com essa box a95x F4 , por fim ela morreu tempos depois e nem liga mais , e uma boa box potente rodava todos os jogos , jogava retro game do DOUG jogos da play store mais super aquece muito , precisa de um cooler ou troca do dissipador , gostava muito dela mais morreu, ja tive a h96pro S912 muito top também E hoje estou com uma tx9 tanix nunca me deu dor de cabeça , talvez não tive sorte com minha A95x F4

If you want superior power performance minus AV1 video format the AM6B-Plus. If you want latest S905X4 with AV1 video decoder the AM7 minus the superior hexa-core CPU. However it is clocked at 2.0GHz higher than most boxes.

On the AM7 no you cannot it's not google certified, or has the DRM rights to allow it. For the official version of the MOD version of Netflix to work, the box needs Google Widevine Level 1 with HDCP 2.2 protection and not rooted.

Unfortunately I don't test videos with BD in them and I have never received a request from anyone other than yourself. Most people usually asked for 4K HDR, HDR 10+, AV1 and surround sound audio decoding. So I can't promise you I'll be testing that in my future videos.

Please, why boxes running the mobile version of Android should be rooted? Because of better navigation, user experience? Apps? Netflix is not important to me if that is the reason.. With word "rooting" do you mean making it a box with Android TV like Mi Box s? Or rooting is something else - does a95x F3 come "rooted" right away when you buy it?

To put it simply. There are apps on the play store and APK download that require the box to be rooted for them to work. This does not apply to streaming apps or APK downloads, those can work whether the box is rooted or not. However Android boxes are no longer used for just basic streaming. They are now being used for gaming, there are being used for crypto mining, there are being used for digital signage, there being used as DVR's etc. Now there are certain apps that cannot work on the box if the box is rooted. For example. For you to play touchscreen games on an Android box that has no touchscreen function you need a specialized app called a gamepad keymapping app, that takes the buttons of the gamepad and apply it as it touchscreen function somewhere on the screen. These particular apps need root access to the box's core system files or else they will not work. Another example is when the box does not come with a navigation bar there is a specialized app called the menu button app, that acts as an alternative navigation bar. This app also requires root access for it to work properly. Another critical issue about not having root access on your Android box, is that the Google play store detects that the box is not rooted and hence blocks the installation of certain apps that require root whereby restricting the play store.

The X96 X for has a faster CPU clock speed of 2.0 GHz which will deliver better gaming performance than the A95X X4 that's clocked at 1.8 GHz. As for overheating during gaming you would have to apply a cooling fan for both models.

this fabulous S905X4 cannot play HBO Max Audio on HDMI and cannot connect to most bluetooth speakers. But it's good to install Armbian Linux and make it a small home server.

That's because it's not a certified Android TV Box. Boxes that can play HDR marks with audio would be the Mecool models with certification, your Amazon fire TV devices, the Nvidia shield, the recent HAKOmini Pro, and a few others. What you should be looking for is boxes running Google Widevine L1 with HDCP 2.2/2.3 protection and preferably but not necessarily a Netflix ESN certification.

i have find what happens.you can't choose 4k if tv isn't 4k.The sound is more complicated for moulti chanell resaiver.Best is from hdmi to resaiver.If it have'nt hdmi better use Nova player and Mix player

Purchased & just delivered today 09/07/22 . KZbin not signing In on pre install KZbin app.. but when I am installing from play store it signing in.. also when tried to update firmware, its not updating, asking for to check network.. Remote volume reducing button not working, when try to reduce volume, it exit TV mode and I have to again select from TV remote to HDMI and come back to screen. This really irritating.. Plz help..Should I returned the box?

Even if I gave you an APK it will not work on this box because it's not fully Google certified, nor does it have the digital rights to protect Netflix and others from piracy. This means the APK will only be limited to 480p regardless of your premium subscription.

I play movies using MoviePlayer app and Kodi app - both same results. Hope you could advise what setting you did to make it works for 7.1 audio surround. Thanks, PS: My Mi Box 3 used to support 7.1 audio surround but after firmware upgrade to Android 9 from Android 8, 7.1 audio doesn't work anymore. Whenever I play 7.1 video (movies) format, it only output 5.1 audio.

Ok in Kodi in the settings area click on standard until it says Expert. Under audio settings set output channels to 7.1. Scroll down and enable audio passthrough and all DTS options below that. If not using Kodi use the VLC player. In the settings area set hardware acceleration to full, and under audio settings enable audio passthrough.

@@tvboxstop My setting in Kodi System Settings already with Passthrough ON ALL. Thanks for your advice - it works after setting the Audio Decoder to 7.1 speakers. However, 7.1 only works for Dolby Digital formats and not DTS-MA which still output 5.1. Luckily discovered that by turning off DTS and DTS-HD in Passthrough, 7.1 works in PCM mode. Thanks again for your help and prompt response.

@TV Box Stop just bought this F4,, it doesn't support HDR10 plus, and the surround audio manual setting is gone, and auto surround setting following My TV Set, doesn't support DTS audio.. 😭 trying to turn off HDMI CEC, and it doesn't make any change..

OK yes it will work but you will loose Android 11 for which I don't have the firmware. However it's giving you problems anyway, so if you want exactly what you see in my video, that is the firmware I used. Android 10 and 11 are no different in any significant way.

When you say you can't remove the mouse, are you referring to the mouse pointer(cursor) on the screen? Or is it something else you are referring to.

In the settings area try resetting the box. Could be a glitch, however resetting the box will also remove all your apps and set the box back to factory default settings.

A95X F4 Firmware aml_upgrade_package-x4-04-26, does not work properly. When you turn off the device and unplug it from the electricity (220V) and turn it on, you can not get into the settings or set up wifi.

Then this box was not suited for you. There is an app on the box to control the LED lights. A95X is one of those that don't usually provide regular updates. I see your frustrated points.
