The scary part of Facebook and the internet in general is that voices you wouldn’t normally hear are suddenly being heard by large numbers of people. They need to make sure these hate speeches are not promoted in any way. Perhaps not allowing them period. Problem is how do you monitor this behavior worldwide?

This is the view most people have on democracy nowadays... It is not my opinion, therefore it is a lesser opinion. You should know that there are a lot of people who think exactly the same about your opinion... Who should decide what the right opinion is? How would you do it consistently? Who has the final say? In the Netherlands the same party ruled for the past 14 years, now another party won, not left but right.... The people who won and ruled for the past 14 years are now protesting and rioting because their party didn't get voted in. according to them, the fact that they didn't win is "the end of democracy"

It’s a question of worry for all those who wish to remain on the side of ‘good’ in society.

the interviewer has a bit of frustrating myopia about facebook... the issue is instant global mass communication technologies, not just "a few bad apples" at facebook

*Why are all of these people so strange?? They're all way too happy in these interviews. Nervousness perhaps, but it makes them all come off as incompetent.*

Because they always have something to sell: if not a product, then themselves. They don't antagonize, chide or analyze beyond what they see as business opportunities and as a way to make their mark to attract capital. Whether your business is leaning left or right, it all comes to presenting yourself as someone who can make something happen without unnecessary fluff, anger or resentment.

@@marcthenarc868 In that case they are simply robots, looking to maximize some variable, financial or otherwise (and doing a poor job at it, at that). They are not human. They are machines.

If being "strange" equals "incompetence" to you then you must be a very stable genius, huh? People that have accomplished more than you would if given unlimited lifetimes to do so are far from incompetent. But by all means wax on through your prism of the Dunning-Kruger Effect, armchair psychology along side a patent superiority complex to try and tear others down so you you can sleep at night. Sweet dreams, snowflake.
