The older I get the more I appreciate and go back to the Faces and early Rod Stewart. In my not so humble opinion Stay With Me is the ultimate rock and roll song.

Summer’72: Faces, Zep, Stones at the Philly Spectrum. All brilliant. Rod snd the band severely underrated. Stones tops. All could rock, but Zep , for all of their brilliance, couldn’t roll. Had a few minutes with the supreme gentleman Mr. Charlie Watts. And very briefly met Sir Mick at the post show Center City Phila. Hilton!

The Faces are one of the most underrated bands ever! What happened to Ronnie Lane was a cruel tragedy!

Underrated???? You bet your ASS they are Brian as I'll state that the FACES are the most #1 UNDERRATED band in ROCK HISTORY and my Rock Hero, Mr. Keith Richards playing with them added with Rod Stewart's true musical identity is nothing short of KICK ASS "ROCK & ROLL "

Great performance!! Tetsu never gets the accolades for his superb playing! Solid as a rock!
@inquiry76 жыл бұрын
Of course Tetsu does a fine job...but a lotta bass players could play with Rod, Mac, Ron Wood and Kenny Jones, not to mention Keef...Tetsu was the lucky one. The rest of them knew each other from virtually their teens...Woody's older brother was friends with Keef, so Ronnie was always around.
@ARIZJOE4 жыл бұрын
Ronnie Lane was a great musician, and wrote some good music. So it was hard for Tetsu to follow. But when you listen to Tetsu, he does a great job.

Rod Stewart is one of the best rock vocalists of all time. Ok, understatement of the year I know but seriously, he's one of those guys it's easy to ignore since the radio over plays his hits but he's a serious singer.

Absolutely agree. Great though Elvis was, Chuck started what we know as Rock n' Roll. When asked to define that style of music, John Lennon stated: 'Just call it Chuck Berry'. If it's good enough for John Lennon, it's good enough for me! Well done rustncrust, great upload.

Yeah, when they weren't drunk. Saw them twice, once at the Poconos Raceway in PA where they put on a great show then later at, IIRC, the Meadowlands in NJ. Based on their performance in PA, I got all my buddys to load up in 2 cars to head to NJ for the Meadowlands concert. Man, did _ they_ S_U_C_K !! I'd seen a whole lotta bands by then and none put on a performance as horrendous as they did that day. I think they took Stewart off stage because he passed out. At least it looked that way from where we were standing .It was after this show that we started hearing that rumor about him having to have his stomach pumped (if ya don't know the 'story', I'm not gonna repeat it). Fortunately, Skynyrd also played that day and most of my buds were big fans of them so it wasn't a total waste. Its not an exaggeration to say that they looked like a group of drunk monkeys who were handed a mic and some musical instruments. They were that bad !! PA ? The epitome of a great R&R roll band, they kicked ASS !!

Place rocking, joint jumping, music pumping, band bumping!! 70s super energy musical magic! Best Artists! Blown away! In the 70s there were no PC's, No mobiles, Videos,...but the music rocked big time with some of the original and greatest rock musicians of all time, hitting back from 60s rising on the tail of a comet since rock began!(50s). but possibly the roots of rock had been sewn and started before the 50s, just waiting for the bulb to start budding!! They were so cool in the younger days and full of charisma and energy...and the clothes were something else...Far Out!

@ROCKING ROD The stage outfits many players, e.g. Jimi, used back then definitely added lots of "spice" to the shows. All of us who were there 1st hand to have "Experienced" all of that are quite fortunate. Really, at home unless it comes on an internet channel I have on, I rarely listen to any music from 1980 on, with very few exceptions.
