The Factor of Safety (3rd session of ASME B31 3 Course by Ali Nouri)

Are you interested to know how safety factor (SF) is implemented for allowed materials in ASME B31.3?
In this session, with an example you can find the Factor of safety of material ASTM A106 Gr. B at 100-degree Fahrenheit referring to table A-1 of ASME B31.3.
Following previous sessions, now you know that the function of the Code is providing optimum Safety considering scope of work. Different Codes use different methods to provide such safety and in today’s session you will learn about one method that is used by ASME B31.3 to calculate wall thickness of pipe.
I Next session we will compare ASME 31.3 & ASME B31.8
