This was the 1st Season in which the theme song was updated to more of a New Wave Rock Song and also, this was The Final Season for Charlotte Rae as Mrs. Edna Garrett and the reason for that was because Miss Rae thought that she's done the show long enough, it was time to move on and I can understand that God Bless You Charlotte Rae, Thank You for not only the love and laughter on Diff'rent Strokes, but also, Thank You for also teachin' us about The Facts of Life R.I.P. Mrs. Garrett and BTW, MacKenzie Astin is the son of John Astin of The Addams Family Fame and Legendary Actress the late Patty Duke and George Clooney long before he went on to great success as Dr. Douglas Ross on the NBC Drama Series ER and before a big time career in movies Plus, during the 85/86 Season, NBC Saturday Nights had The Facts of Life as well as 2 Sitcoms that debut that same season in 227 and The Golden Girls Plus, HUNTER with Fred Dryer & Stepfanie Kramer returned for a 2nd Season and moved to Saturday Nights after the late Brandon Tartikoff saved the show from cancellation and the 2nd Season also featured Bruce Davison as the No Nonsense Capt. During this season (1985-86), in the opening credits, there are two different types of fonts used. Half of the cast credits appear in a Bookman Old Style font, and the other half in a ITC Lubilan Graph typeface.

I got a glimpse of a balloon doll of Goggle Red from the Super Sentai series Goggle V in the opening credits. This is the first appearance of a Red Ranger in the American soil just 8 years before the whole Power Rangers franchise series be adapted in America.

The Facts Of Life started 1979 and aired 4 episodes in the 70's. Shout! Factory isn't incorrect on that. They are dating when the series started, not when the theme song is from.
