Two points where I strongly disagree. 1) Sesko definitely isn't a flop wit his stats, and he's just taking the next step in his career by joining RB Leipzig. Remember, Haaland also didn't go from Austria to the PL right away, spent some time in the Bundesliga. Clevermoe in both cases! 2) Cole Palmer is more like an all-around midfielder, so he is not competing with City's forwards by any means. He is an academy graduate, and has Pep's full support. Already got more minutes this season then during the previous one. City finished the Treble with using only 21 outfield players, Palmer being the youngest in the midfield/attacking section. It's a team where even the likes of Foden struggle for playing minutes as Guardiola is not a big fan of rotation. He will be good, just give him some time. His prices are down, so what? That's when you should buy!

Nailed it! I honestly don’t see how any of the new talents cards will ever hold their value with the ridiculous PR’s they have. Performance is huge but to me scarcity is just as big a factor. Leao is a great example to me of a decent investment with only 23 numbered rookies and only three other cards outside of them to choose from.

Why slag off young players at the back of one mediocre or injury-ridden season? Not every young footballer go out guns blazing off the blocks like a Mbappe or Haaland. Even if they do, remember Dele Alli? And I would say for the only American sport which I follow that is basketball, it's very much the same, would you label Giannis a bust after his first two indifferent seasons? I remember retailers were handing out 17/18 Optic Basketball packs for free with purchases made, as the rookie class in 2017 at one time largely underwhelmed. That rookie class has since delivered bona-fide stars like Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell, with DeAaron Fox and Lauri Markkanen not far behind. Not all players can sustain success attained at the early part of their careers, and then there are the late-bloomers who blossomed into world-beaters. That's the fun part, when it translates to the hobby. Instead of dismissing Jonathan David based on one poor World Cup, assess his track-record based on what he's done in club football, which is a decent goal tally in Ligue 1. Who is to say that he can't make a Osimhen-esque impact in a bigger league?

I agree with your takes. But don’t underestimate the Canada collector fan base. I set up at shows in Canada every month and he is always my best seller. I bring around 10-20 cards of him each month and I sell them all. I agree that he needs a transfer tho

I agree Gavi will never be a massive hobby player. He’s a lot like Camavinga. They’re both too defensive to reach mainstream hobby collectors

Gavi is much more like an Iniesta type - he will never be a great scorer, it simply isn't his role. He is so so young and actually had a great season, when he was able to play. He needs to lead Spain to glory and/or win La Liga/Champions league many times to draw long-term attention.

Gavi and Pedri’s success has everything to do with Barcelona winning Champions League and maybe the next World Cup. Winning La Liga won’t cut it.

Midfielders have a lot of fluidity when it comes to their playing positions. They often get moved further up or pulled further back as their careers move along. Gavi obviously has an eye for goal as exemplified by the well-taken goal in the World Cup. He is still very young, but already played a significant part in recent club (LaLiga) and international triumphs (Nations League). I would'nt be typecasting him just yet.

Surely the club they are at makes a massive impact? Fans want to see players in a Barcelona or a man utd shirt but they are going to struggle win the big competitions. These rookies have got to have a run at the chanpions league. Barcelona and man utd will be no where near the champions league trophy.

I think it says a lot about the 21/22 Rookie class that a CM was a clear No.1 prospect.
