Hello Heimler, I am a fourth year History education major at MSU and am studying to pass the MTTC so I can teach in classrooms next year. I just wanted to say that these videos are fantastic and have been a huge help in reviewing World and US History. I know you are mostly focused on helping AP students in high school, but these are also great review for future educators getting ready to take their credential exams. Thanks again and can't wait to see what other content you put out there.

I cannot thank you enough for all of these videos, they have been so helpful for me! In preparation for my final, I have watched every single one of your APUSH review videos from start to finish all within the past five days. I honestly am so surprised because I did not think I would ever understand the material in this class as well as I do now. You were able to make history interesting for me and always had me engaged, while cracking jokes that put a smile on my face along the way. Thank you for everything you have done, I will definitely be back next semester to watch more of your videos. Your students are incredibly lucky to have a teacher as caring as you!

Exactly!!!! This is the exact way history should be told. I think the main reason why he is so good is because he’s memorable, and his language makes his videos clear, concise and understandable. A lot of teachers should follow his example

I've also notice how when we talk about history today its based off what we believe and feel today.. and not just explaining what history was and how things were different over 100 years ago. History is positive and negative. People are always the outliers in history

In my opinion, U. S. Grant was one of the worst presidents, but he did do one of the coolest things in US history: He sent the army down to (try to) defeat the KKK! 😎👍
@kevinlove43564 жыл бұрын
There was one key difference between slavery and the sharecropping system: People could just walk away. Freed slaves were now free to choose between such alternative as dangerous and exploitative working conditions in mines. Or dangerous and exploitative working conditions in factories. Or dangerous and exploitative working conditions working for railway corporations and their "Robber Baron" owners. Clue the song... "I've been working on the railroad." In other words, they now got to pick their choice of abusive and exploitative jobs. A wide variety of industries and corporations gave them a chance to start at the bottom... and stay there thanks to systematic racism. At least plantation work was comparatively safe, which is why many people stayed down on the farm.
@markjohnson34134 жыл бұрын
they also stayed because they were pressured by their former slave owners to stay on their land and accept long term contracts because of the Black codes... many couldnt easily walk away especially if they were forced into a contract.
@kevinlove43564 жыл бұрын
@@markjohnson3413 Yes, and that was mentioned in the video. I do have to question how enforceable such a contract would be. For example, say that the year is 1870, my name is John Henry and I am living in rural Alabama. Suppose I run away to be a "steel-driving man" for the C&O Railway in West Virginia. Then how on earth is my former slave owner ever going to be able to find me in order to enforce any contract?
