It was interesting to hear what he had to say. I would point out, that he started with demanding "Lights off" then "Lights on" - if he were british, he would have used "Please". Clearly not familiar with the word "Humbleness" either. Would it have been better for him, to have embraced britishness and forgotten about the colour of his skin, and his "roots"? A lot of white british people don't know their "roots" or history, and function in society.

"Turn the lights off, please" would have been a more appropriate opening statement. Unfortunately the rest of this discussion follows the same sense of disdain for other people, focussing - rather than on the more important issue of multiculturalism - on a narcissistic exploration of 'me' culture, peppered with the inevitable descent into victim politics. This was an opportunity to consider ways to improve matters but it chose to pursue divisions instead.

What’s funny about this guy is that he claims he was in front of the other kids at school but then wasn’t enrolled on GCSEs cause he wasn’t smart enough, having to do the lower ability BTEC instead. Then he says he went to 6th form but they wouldn’t let him do A levels and so he had to do the lower ability course for these as well. Whatever odd university let him, I don’t think we’re talking a future prime minister of the new republic he seeks to be the founding father of. 🤔

This resonates with me so much. I never felt seen in school. I was never really able to relate to the assigned materials. I have always been told that I can't be oppressed because I "present as white". But when teachers tell a kid that their culture is made up, or that they should know the references in a text because they are universal, when in fact they are xtian, and when a student is constantly correcting teachers it is exhausting. As far as representation goes, the only representations of my people in the media are stereotypes, never played by us. You would think that they would be able to find at least one of us who actually knows something or do some research, but no. It's frustrating. sigh

In the spirit of 'me culture' peeves outlined in this video I politely request that, if the speaker is to refer to his thesis he should do so using the correct pronunciation. It is too easy to mishear "fee-sis" as 'faeces' and this could lead to unfair judgements of the speaker's work.
