Excellent video. What I enjoyed most was; 1) you didn't waste time with showing me how to do the trivial things and 2) the techniques you used with the Cobra 26. I've been doing leather work as a hobby for the past two years while we RV around the country full-time. I plan to get a 26 when we return to Florida in December.

This is all very first-rate. I am impressed by the double-row of stitches you laid down via the means at-hand. Inspirational stuff here. I thank you!

Enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing the process. The zipper process was helpful. That olive color is amazing. I think I’ve encountered that problem with bag shapes, too. Clever idea, designing to the machine capabilities (cylinder vs postbed). 👏👏

@@lukedorny yep! It goes briefly from two layers of leather to three. 👍

Shows that the Cobra Class 26 is a pretty awesome machine to have! The bag looked very nice, curious though as to how long it actually took for the complete cut-to-build and completion. Also, what weight leather were you using?
@hemlockandhyde Жыл бұрын
probably about 8-10 hours in total. 4.5/5oz leather is what we use for most bags

What clips are you using? I have never seen ones like those before.
@hemlockandhyde Жыл бұрын
They are called wire binder clips, they are a little expensive but we like them because you can see through them unlike to regular black plastic binder clips

What is the name and weight of the leather you used and where did you purchase? Thank you
@hemlockandhyde Жыл бұрын
wickett and craig leather. Bag weight is usually anywhere between 3.5-6 oz and you can get it straight from the tannery or through their vendors like Buckleguy

Another question??? I just bought a Kwikprint 86 exactly like yours. What temp do find works for foil on leather? Thanks
@hemlockandhyde Жыл бұрын
we do about 250 for gold foil. Everyone we know uses a different temp, lol. Try a few and see what works for you
@sincerbeaux767 Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. I experimented w it today and kinda concluded the same temp seemed to be working well.

Great video! Thanks. What glue are you using? How long to dry? Is it just for holding while sewing or meant or be permanent?
@hemlockandhyde3 жыл бұрын
It's Beacon: Fabri-Tac. We use it to glue pieces together before sewing. If we aren't sewing over it we use Barge rubber cement. Hope that helps
