Living Big In A Tiny House

Living Big In A Tiny House

5 жыл бұрын

There was an old woman who lived in a shoe. That's how the story goes, but this tiny house is no fairytale. Constructed from ferrocement, this spectacular home has been crafted as a whimsical yet functional retreat space which is shaped like a boot.
Support us on Patreon: / livingbig
The home is constructed as part of Jester House, a cafe and gardens which is located near Motueka, New Zealand. There, the owners have transformed 5 aces of land into a retreat filled with beautiful gardens and creative tiny homes.

Next to the boot, they have also constructed a natural small home out of light earth, and another experimental building which was constructed for only $1,000.

Agree, except for the 'clan-based' stuff...will always lead to power trips, then death. Socialism=death&destruction. Small tribes/clans looking out for each other & living wonderfully will have to deal with other tribes/clans encroaching and/or wanting what the peaceful/loving ones have...can't NOT boil down to that..as humans vary from righteous to evil.

Love the way he lace it out, it's a shoe in for the whimsical home community with a reasonable footprint within the surroundings. This is truly out of the box thinking! The kicker is it looked like such a fun build which is what out shoed be aboot! He really put his sole into it which you saw in the step by step explanation. I'm trying to hold my tongue so I don't put my foot in my mouth. I'll just shoe myself the door now and give myself the boot!

There are a million different tiny home themed channels, but this is the only one I actually sit and watch all the way through. Other channels either ramble on for a long time about whatever they're talking about, have much lower production value, have bad audio quality, or just don't seem to care very much about what they're showing you. This channel is so good and the host is so endearing and nice to everyone he talks to. He doesn't get judgy towards any of the more quirky or eccentric people/designs, he asks relevant questions, and his girlfriend (I hope that's right) has an amazing talent for making visually beautiful videos. I have been binge watching this channel all week. Love it!

It really makes you stop and think just how much stuff do you really need? And the freedom a person could have....while living in one, you wouldn't be spending out the rear for utilities and other stuff. Just think of the money you could save especially if you are off the grid and the time you could save in cleaning one!! I love these homes!!

You should do more research in the US. The building codes vary by county and there are many rural counties throughout the US that have very loose restrictions. If you go far enough outside city limits in a lot of counties, you can get away with building anything.

So cool! We have a "There was an old woman who lived in a shoe" house too here in Pennsylvania, USA! Ours was built in 1948 completed in 1949 by Colonel Mahlon Nathaniel Haines who was the flamboyant "Shoe Wizard" for advertising purposes. He walked up to an architect and handed him an old work boot and said build him a house like the work boot! Love this one is a couples retreat, it looks like a great place to just get back to nature and no tv. Love it! love the lodge too, so cool that it is totally off grid.

Hello Bryce, this was the best birthday present anyone could have giving me on my birthday. Although I am just watching, I have to say your videos make me feel so peaceful, and happy. I am a creative spirit, and I love how this couple have just nailed it. Unique speaks volumes to me. Many of us don’t have the money, land or means to create such works of art. Many countries have so many building restrictions although we might like to have creative things like this it can be hard or impossible. Your videos bring hope, and allow people like me to live vicariously through your work. Thank you so much.

steve has transformed a barren land into an active community while bringing back nature by planting a forest. he's a charm! ♥ and wouldn't it be great if he made a few more tiny homes, each with different themes like a candy house, a doll house, a modern architectural, a tree house, a teapot? that'd be amazing for sure.

This is so typically New Zealand, or at least it is the New Zealand I have grown up knowing, I fear it is slowly being eroded by property investors and people building to try and meet the desires of those who are going to come after them, long live good old Kiwi Ingenuity, lets hope we still have people and buildings like this for generations to come.
