In the comics, John Walker snapped when his parents were kidnapped and killed [after his identity was outed] in Captain America 345. (He'd gotten the Serum from the Power Broker before he became Cap.) After he snapped and was removed from being Cap, his death was faked and he returned as US Agent, on the government payroll. Well when I was a kid John Walker was a hero with The Westcoast Avengers and he helped them defeat the High Evolutionary during the Evolutionary War annual crossover. I'm not sure how he will be in episode 5 but in the comics he is a HERO. I have faith Kevin Fiege will give us John Walker as the Westcoast Avenger and not this limited villan that lasted al of 4 months everyone is using as an excuse to hate him.

That would be fine but there's one of many issues here. . The Dora Milaje literally did the exact same thing and allowed Zemo to escape .....yet every reaction I see is like " yaaay that was awesome " . This really creeps me out on a deep level . What are your thoughts ? Is it a thing ? Do you not care ? Is it a matter of view point ? Seeing the end of the episode and knowing what the title is got me good. The world is watching goes back to black Panther when he was going to kill Ullis’s claw and Nakia runs to him and says wait my king the world is watching. Another call back is the shot above the shield before John Walker starts shoving it into his chest where in Civil War between our Cap that we love (Steve Rogers) and Tony are fighting in that bunker place and Cap goes to hit Tony but he just destroys the armor chest piece and doesn't go for his neck. In the show, this guy doesn't have armor on and will die if someone jabs him with the shield. 👀🤭🤨 And its really sad on another level because that guy told Karli at the graveyard that he loved Captain America growing up and he was his hero and it's poetic and not poetic that his favorite hero was to be the one that killed him... 👀😳🤔😭😭

YES! WOW! What an intense episode! The opening scene with Ayo and Bucky was soooo good. Sebation Stan’s performance was so powerful, and I felt so much for Bucky in that moment. Then later when they literally disarm him, he looks both astounded and betrayed. I am concerned that that, plus the comment he made to Sam in the couple’s counseling session about Steve not being right about him will send him back under somehow. I want him to keep the faith that he can be his best self without fear. Alisha, when Walker questioned the Dora Milaje about jurisdiction I was totally with you! Like, do you have jurisdiction, Walker??? I have been wondering this whole time why and how Walker acts like he has the authority to go after these super soldiers when all their crimes seem to have taken place in Europe. That whole scene was amazing the way they put all those guys in their place. I was surprised when Lamar was killed so quickly. I feel like he barely had the chance to be anything and now he’s dead. I was liking his character a lot. It was also hard to figure out what was making Walker appear to become more and more unhinged before taking the serum, except just the amount of pressure and self doubt he was having over being the new cap. Clearly, though Lamar’s death cinched it and sent him over the edge where he has no hope for redemption, and maybe neither does what the shield represents. Loved your reactions! So fun to watch and listen to you three. Can’t wait til next week and sad that there are only two more.

In the first place, whether or not the man was a super-soldier or a terrorist, he was surrendering (hands up, palms out, away from his body), and you do not kill a suspect that is surrendering. In the second place, the man was a foreign national of foreign soil, where John Walker (by his own admission) had no jurisdiction. Third, he was wearing the uniform of Captain America and used the shield as an edged weapon. And most damning, he did it in a public place and was live-streamed by almost everyone in the square. Any one of those would be bad. Taken all together, Walker's actions were those of a narcissistic psychopath.

My initial thought was that he was thinking about Isaiah, and would be nice to see more of that story. I’ve heard other theories that that look was about Sam just thinking about where old cap is and whether old cap a different Steve Rogers from another universe, so there is actually more than one Steve.

I loved the way they emphasized the relationship between Bucky and Ayo. They were friends. She says "Bast damn you James." Not sure if it was anything romantic but they had a connection. Another observation Karli seemed to know about Sam's issues with the bank at their first meeting. She had done her homework even before getting Sarah on the phone. At the end of Civil War T'Challa has Zemo in his hands but he does not kill him. He doesn't even insist on taking him to Wakanda, he allows International Justice to play out. He is worthy of the heart shaped herb and the powers of the Black Panther. The Dora Milaje was clearly not using deadly force apprehending Zemo, and I don't think he would have been executed him. Steve Tony and Bucky were fighting all out at the end of Civil War, but even with Tony's parents death, killing was each other was not on the table. John Walker unfortunately does not have the strength of character to wield super powers.

Really enjoy your reactions! While I know the Flagsmashers were trying to kill Walker, I don't think Karli I intended to kill Lemar. Though we expect that can happen given their methods... But we expect better from our heroes. So what Walker did was 1000x worse. Obviously being a great soldier doesn't make you an inherently good man... just good at killing. Whereas Steve had a good heart first & always. As does Sam. (I'm actually always surprised that more 'non-powered' people don't get killed in these all-out fights. But I guess that's what makes these two killings so incredibly shocking.)

Does the job the only way he is trained how to which might be questionable and the man has PTSD from the past actions. Doesn't get any help from the Avengers. Gets his ass kicked around him. Pressure from government and pressure from the position placed on him. Loses partner to super soldiers and finally snaps. I mean I get it. I empathize with the guy. Make no mistake, He is not the right candidate for the job but who is going to say No to the country they served and to the honor of being Captain America. The government failed him. He's a broken man and he's probably going to be manipulated by Zemo. Wyatt Russell has done a great job painting someone in the grey

There's no way they'd put him in the Raft. The gov wouldn't waste a super soldier like him. They'll cover it up and use him as their own "Dark Cap." Look how they did Isaiah, they bury the truth all the time. Even though Walker was caught on cam, they're gonna use him, even if they take the shield away from him (only for PR reasons). It's funny cuz in the comics, Lemar is alive, and both of them (Walker and Hoskins) are turned into superhumans by the Powerbroker. They're actually stronger than Cap. Killing Hoskins was an interesting choice. Anyway, they'll still use Walker. Thunderbolt Ross will use him. He ain't going nowhere..

Chris Evans said he wasn't coming back/that was a rumor, sadly. I assume either Cap died (he was over a 100 at the end of Endgame) If he was old Bucky & Sam would still be seeing/talking to him. They are feeling lost without him & need to learn to lean on each other. That or Cap went back to the past after giving Sam the shield to be with Peggy & whatever family they had together. Bucky did say in Endgame "I'm going to miss you Buddy" He knew Steve wasn't planning to come back to live in the present. This is exactly why Steve Rogers at his core was Captain America even before the shield and serum came along. Something Walker doesn’t currently possess, accolades don’t mean squat when it comes to the mantle it’s the person behind the shield is what really matters which is why Sam is a worthy successor while Walker has shown that he isn’t.

John Walker started out as the "Super Patriot" after getting the super soldier serum from the Power Broker and then became Captain America for a while before becoming U.S. Agent. This is a VERY brief overview of the timeline, but he DID have the super soldier serum in the comics and his more........aggressive personality is definitely a highlighted personality trait in the comics and the source of a lot of what he does. He would most likely be considered an anti-hero in all honesty along the lines of the Punisher. He also was part of the Dark Avengers and (I believe) the Thunderbolts.

After Bucky get killed be Odin's brother's Daughter, "yeah I know, stay with me" a young captain America from the split timeline arrives to save the Day. Also this is the book Evil Hammer Powered Thing is killed by Thor Odin Son

Yes, one of my favorite comics of all time. Bucky is brutally murdered with his own arm, Thing turns evil and is killed by Thor, Evil Hulk and Thor battle to the brink of Death. Where a young Captain, that was unknown to everyone/most shows up and Carrie's on the Fight against Odin's brother and his Daughter. Great book. Fear itself

I have to say this ladies. I’ve watched probably 2 dozen reviews of this episode (it’s fun to relive the moments through someone else eyes ). I have to say your banter and remarks were the best of all of them. I swear I thought I was watching with my step mom and my sisters. I don’t like Faux Cap always trying to take away \people’s agency…Sam’s, the Dora Milaje…almost everybody he comes in contact with. I love how they shot that last scene like a police video. Yikes. They might pull out his Facebook photos holding guns. lol John Walker’s parents dying was the catalyst in the comics. He started off an egotistical guy trying to beat Cap but he eventually turns good. Just not Cap.

Sam doesn’t want the serum Bucky never wanted it he was experimented on. Steve volunteered for the project but didn’t even know what it was but guess what walker is so envious and jealous and falling to pressure he craves it. I like how ayo took bucky away from city when it was possible he could have been activated. Also Bucky knows how to speak wakandan that’s like 4 or 5 languages he speaks.

Ok so Steve thought Bucky died did Steve try to kill Zola afterwards? Bucky his best friend was blasted off of a train and was assumed that he fell to his death. Steve and isiah are true heroes. Dr erskine said bad becomes worse and good becomes better.

exactly 🙌🏽 another thing to note is that before the serum, steve rogers was bullied, made fun of, and beaten up so many times. he just wanted to protect people from bullies. so, even after taking the serum, he still stayed that good hearted - wanting to help the little guys! 🧡

Sam tried to warn John not to tangle with Dora Milaje but he didn't listen--and paid the price. Alyssa asked a great question, where is Steve? He has to be either dead, offworld or retired on some isolated island. He'd respect Sam turning in the Shield to the museum. Steve'd hold his tongue on the new Cap to give him a chance. But once the video of blood on the Shield goes viral, if there's anyway he'd find out, he'd speak up. Meanwhile, I wonder how Rhodey and Isaiah will react to the news.

In the comics Jon and Battlestar get "the augmentation process" it's a refined form of the experiment that created Luke Cage. Cap and red skull get Erskine's formula, Original Nick Fury gets the Centurion serum. Everyone post Elijah gets experimented on ri recreate the process which becomes augmented soldier.

I have been waiting ALL! WEEKEND! to see y'all react to the Dora Milaje, and it did not disappoint. As a white dude, having her hand him back his shield, like it was no threat to her, yeah, it crushed him. I mean, any one can lose to a super soldier and go, okay, yeah, they were tough, we'll bounce back. But for John, seeing these two women with 'pointy sticks,' he doesn't see them as highly trained military. It just doesn't click for him. In his mind, he got whupped by two civilians that didn't even have guns and when it was over, they took this shield, that he basically worships, stole it from him effortlessly, and then gave it back the way you'd take a toy from a misbehaving child and let him earn it back later with good behavior. He has no spirit left at that point. Being Captain America sucks. As to your question re: John, yeah, no. There is zero chance the US government will take a soldier like that and put him in jail. They'll SAY they did (or fake his death) and then put him in some all-black suit and drop him into warzones, every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Spin-doctors will paint the man Walker killed as one of the terrorist Flag-Smashers and that will be dealt with. He becomes U.S. Agent after he gets psychotherapy. In the comic books, it is not Lamar that is killed but John Walker's parents and that pushes him over the edge.

I know that he first followed Sam because Redwing was U.S. military hardware they could access for GPS, however, when Walker showed up with a military commando to raid the printing shop, I started to wonder if this was not the United States being twitchy, or if they were acting for the Global Reclamation Committee (which I still think is a Hydra front).

I think we will be getting the stuff that Steve was afraid of. Like where the Accords are doing the directing and it's situations that the Avengers shouldn't be involved in. That was why he didnt want to sign them.
