It takes a lot of character analysis and research to be able to get into whatever role you’re playing, even the small ones. And you have to live up to how good the writing is as well.

"they weren't even super soldiers" Uhm John, those were the Dora Milaje AKA the most fierce warriors in Wakanda and highly trained, the best of the best led by Ayo the second in command of General Okoye, they are THE Kings Guard, they were gonna eat you up anyway. but in all seriousness, I'm assuming John knows Sam was given the shield by Steve because of that comment in Zemo's safehouse and now Karli doesn't want to talk to him or even take him as Captain America seriously, she wants Sam the guy who doesn't have the shield and has been one step ahead with Bucky at every turn. I'd be mad too lol, but him losing Lemer is definitely going to be an absolute game changer and Sam should be wary.

As a result, the shield now has a stain on it that can never be erased. It's a stain on the symbol of Captain America that will taint it forever. It's a very powerful image really. And as a side note, Sebastian Stan is a stellar actor. That opening scene made me cry like a baby. He sold that pain. It was deep and visceral.

"You are free." I only finished the episode this morning, and i wasnt expecting to feel so much in the first literal 2 minutes! Not gonna lie, I had to pause the episode, and get the tears out of my eyes when Bucky was crying. Then i realized it was a mixture of both grief at al the things he couldnt help under mind control and all the blood and lives he took, but also overwhelming relief at the fact that now, he never has to be afraid of those triggers ever again. Sebastian Stan's acting in that scene? God DAMN, it was powerful! And then he started laughing, and I jsut wanted to give him a clap on the shoulder like Steve would and say to him "It's gonna be okay, Buck." This show kills it with every episode! It'll probably sour some of the fanbase when I say this....but Im enjoying this a lot more than Wandavision!

walker's biggest problem is thinking he gets to have all the accessories that comes with being captain america, but sam and bucky aren't accessories and since he didn't fight with the avengers or know any of steve's friends, everyone is rightfully giving him the side eye - even the dora milaje is looking at him crazy cause they knew who steve was which is why they chose to help, the parrallels between steve and john are very similar but going down 2 different roads.

This was such a fantastic episode. It really showed that while John Walker might be a great soldier, he's not necessarily the best man. Wyatt Russell said in an interview that Walker is marine and they're much more grey, rough and not super clean. He said when Walker is given a job, his goal is to fulfill that job by any means possible, how he does it doesn't matter as that's what he was taught as a marine. And he looks at being as Captain America as another job. So while he may want to live up to being that symbol, he feels inadequate and the only way he knows how to do it, is to fall back on his marine training and how he has operated as a marine. Walker is such a complex character and I love all of the layers this show has given him. He's much more sympathetic in the show than in the comics. This shows has done a fantastic job in creating complex characters in Bucky, Sam, Zemo, Karli and Walker.

I don't understand why many people thought Zemo would take a serum for himself. He doesn't want supersoldiers to exist and would definitely not want to take one for his own. I feel like that would have been out of character. I understand that his character has been retconned heavily for this series but taking the serum would be a huge flip that if he did, he would be a whole different character. Unless there was a flashback of him changing his views, but judging from how he described the super-soldier serum as they were talking inside the apartment his still the same person.

It was a smart move by Marvel to give the shield first to John Walker because we all know that the MCU fans will somehow hate (or be indifferent towards) the next person to hold the title after Steve. This series made us want for a better person to hold the shield and thereby fully accept the departure of Steve from the MCU by showing us the contrast of Sam being the good man and John, the perfect soldier.

Karli wouldn't have surrendered to Sam's custody. She's a fanatic. At best the conversation would have ended with a 'it's not too late to join us' from her, and a 'the next time we meet it will be as enemies' type situation. But Sam had to try - just like Steve would have (and it DID provide time for the innocent bystanders to leave - worth it for that alone). Remember, she *immediately* resorted to threatening Sam's family to continue their conversation 'alone' and says she was going to try and recruit him. She's all in at this point. Walker busting in did not help in the slightest and contributed to the escalation later that led to Lamar's death- but it didn't 'ruin' an arrest that was never going to happen.

JW feels the pressure of the medals but doesn't understand that his mission is to deescalate, prevent and stop. Fight can't be the first option.

I love how Zemo again succeeded at doing what he wanted to do. In civil war, he wanted the avengers to fall apart and he did it. Now, he wanted the serums and the person who did the serums gone. He killed the doctor and destroyed the serums. He never gives up on his mission. We also still got some details like his son liking turkish delight a lot so he always has some with him. It reminds of the tragedy of his past and makes me respect him more. P.S. I am a Turk sooo turkish delight IS the best!

The thing with the serum is that it enhances everything even a persons personality. For Steve it was mostly possitive, but even he had a few pitfalls. Namely he whole "We don't trade lives." and "We can do it better." mentallity. This is what eventually doomed the universe and the Avengers respectively. For Walker he has way more negative traits than Steve had, so with him having taken the serum it all got enhanced, but with Lamar's death his rage and murderous intent took the front seat so to speak.

As for Steve's stubornness, it was not caused by the serum, but it did enhance it just like everything else got enhanced. This is probably also the reason way Steve had such trouble adapting to the 21st century.

The only that wasn’t said in Walker’s statement about the serum and in the conversation with battestar is that it wasn’t easy for Steve. He got smacked around a lot. His credo about “I can do this all day”and Erskine’s line about better to be a good man then a good soldier is why Steve will always be a better Captain America than Walker.

Wow, what an opening!! _"You are free."_ Ayo speaking those words were so comforting, far stronger words than the ones he was brainwashed by. And to see Bucky's doubt, trauma, anger, hurt, all shatter... then joy in his breakthrough - the relief. 👏🏾 Loved this episode, I feel like I say that with every episode. I might have let out a loud excited "YES!!!" at 3 in the morning when the title "Wakanda" appeared on the screen lol. (I love everything Black Panther / Wakanda-related you can probably tell lol) There was so much packed into this episode and well-executed. Bucky and Sam basically eating popcorn watching Walker embarrass himself in front the Dora Milaje was me. Then versus these badass women, like, why would you do that to yourself. I was so frustrated & annoyed with Walker throughout this episode especially when I knew he'd ruin the one-on-one talk with Karli and Sam. It was slowly building, then escalated to the point of no returning; only a matter of time. Already on a power trip AND now juiced up.. can't be good. Interesting to see where he goes from here. Zemo being Zemo, escaping (again). Great reaction! Can't wait to listen to more of y'all thoughts and discussion for Movie Couple Live.

As smart as Walker is supposed to be, you’d think he would’ve studied about the superheroes and their world. He doesn’t know who any of there people are or how things work in this world and as Captain America he should. But he acts like he can just walk in an control stuff because he put on a costume and carries the shield. That’s not how it works. Captain America isn’t a job title, it’s a personification. He’s not it and definitely hasn’t earned the respect he so desperately wants. Can’t even give him the benefit of the doubt anymore. He’s not just unworthy, he’s unstable.

The ending scene where he got the bloodied shield, you can see his left hand twitching. I do not hate him, I pity him bec he is trying his best to fill in the role but all he gets is humiliation, pressure and bad decisions. What I do hate is the government xD

i would think that Walker and Hoskins had no backup because they went on this on their own, as Walker said last episode that the government won't care how they got the problem sorted if they do it and that they will follow Sam and Bucky. I feel like they went under the radar, especially because you have that scene before when they have the "army" with them in the van.

One of the first things they establish about John is that he isn’t really following anyone else’s orders. He’s not reporting back to anyone, at least not so we see. I think him doing all this without adequate backup is HIS choice and due to his arrogance.
