The serum never curropted Bucky. When he was with Hydra he had basically no choice, and whenever his own personality started to resurface, he needed to be convinced that he was doing the right thing

Hydra would scramble his brain, basically erase his memory and keep him in cryostasis. What gets me is took everything Steve Rogers had to handle bucky/winter soldier yet John Walker could take on bucky and Sam? Bucky with a vibranium arm and I get when bucky was the winter soldier his morals and care for collateral damage was turned off but bucky wanted to go at Walker from day one and got walker tossed him around.

Well remember Bucky never chose to get the serum either. He was probably put into him in that HYDRA prison camp Steve freed him from in The First Avenger as part of one of Zola's experiments. It was put into his body against his will, essentially. I think that's why he has a line in the movie asking Steve "did it hurt, was it permanent?" The movie kind of gives the impression he's asking Steve about how he joined the army but he may have been talking about the serum.

I still don't get what the deal with the notebook was with the therapist? I don't think its that Bucky finds notebooks triggering because he has Steve's one. Is it what she's writing in it, or is it just she has a bit of a temper and only brings it out when she's annoyed with him. It seems like a punishment almost? Did anyone else notice she like clicks her pen really loudly and does that weird motion of lifting it over her head too? Is that meant to remind Bucky of something?

its a joke. nothing to do with his trauma which would be weird if his therapist was purposely triggering him

@@KN-hg2nv The whole show treats his PTSD and the therapy as a joke so his therapist purposely triggering him is not that far outside the realms of possibility.

@@ChrisVillagomez That was my thought as well. Its not just the sound either... its that she seems to be deliberately making it as loud as possible. Deliberately trying to make that sound- and look at her arm movements too. She takes the pen which was tucked into the spine of the notebook, and swings her hand upwards to the level of her shoulder before clicking it. Who does that? It appears to be vaguely reminiscent of drawing a weapon. She'e drawing the pen like a weapon, or meant to remind him of pulling out a weapon from his tac vest? The movement is also similar to when she was making s*abbing motions earlier on in the scene in reference to his activities at the Winter Soldier and the authorities wanting to know he was safe.

Am I the only one that didn't like any of the scenes with Julia Louis Dryfus? She's the wrong actor for that part. It would have been better suited to someone who can do subtle and snarky. Not stupid and... stupid

I think she's an MCU-exclusive character or a genderswap of an existing character from the comics, she's basically acting as the recruiter for Ross' secret squad of Avengers knockoffs. I've only watched up to like Ms. Marvel or a show after but I do get why you think she's annoying. It's like they wrote her to intentionally upset the vibe that her scenes originally had going. I only remember Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Black Widow but she shows up and interrupts the heartfelt/sad moments the characters are having. John's working things out with his wife and Yelena's mourning Natasha
