I played PES from 2016 to now. I can confidently say I would rather play the offline versions of PES2016, 17, 18, and 19 over crappy eFootball. Both PES and FIFA used to be amazing games but both of them got much worse battling each other. Typing this as I play PES2019

I can’t remember but the pes with Rooney zlatan early Messi was great. How they did their stats for the players was great. I miss that game

Fox engine killed the game we all love... Bring PES back to life guys... If anyone is listening in Japan, we are still craving for a realistic football simulator, not the bombastic EA/FIFA phoney, monetized horseshit... PES lost the UEFA and CONMEBOL club competitions to FIFA and they were fun to play in PES, I prefer playing UEFA EURO in FIFA then PES because PES is messing it up since 2016 while in FIFA, UEFA EURO looks more complete. I just can't play these modern FIFA and PES games because they aren't fun anymore and that's why I prefer playing PES 5 and 6 because they were fun!

I've been playing PES regularly since PES 3 and I agree with you 100%, the amount of features they removed from PES both gameplay and options is crazy, can you believe that in PES 3 players could get head injury and continue playing with a head bandage? they also removed classic national teams, a lot of extras, stadiums, balls etc you name it

Don't forget about 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, a FIFA game that puts both modern FIFA (now EAFC) and PES games to shame. That game was based on the old World Cup format but VASTLY improved on it by adding most of the qualifying rounds, 199 teams (all featuring real players and likeness), lots of stadiums, improved on FIFA 10's gameplay (an already great game), an improved Captain Your Country mode, the online FIFA World Cup/Battle of the Nations feature, "Story of Qualifying" (which itself was partially based on an old PES feature), one of the best sports game soundtracks ever, a great UI, and overall just a hugely replayable game. It was the passion project of the late great Simon Humber who sadly passed away of cancer in 2015. That was the moment EA Sports "won" the war.

Initially PES was so much better than Fifa when it came out and was for so many years but Ffifa took so many stuff from PES and then adopted the PES formula to not invent the game each time instead just tweak and polish.

@@michealkelly1414 you can still play with us in case you wanted to. Of the default players, Gerrard has the highest overall ratio in PES 5. Zidane is one of the strongest too. Pirlo isn't that strong stats wise, but he makes the difference definitely.
