what is "meta"? I always see that and never get it.

@@thecorruptversion It refers to the state of "what is considered viable" by the player base at a moment in time, and is therefore the most played. So for example, right now, the meta includes mono-red aggro along with other decks such as esper control and golgari krasis (some people call it sultai mid-range but I don't because it's not, it's just golgari with a splash for krasis), or even 4C gates. The meta can change over time of course, and it's also often different between amateur level and pro level (and Bo1 and Bo3).

Played against this in Constructed event with the big red deck. After getting armaggedoned, Building back to seven mana and playing dare fleet daredevil and destroy all of that artifact and enchantment junk with his own cleansing nova, watching OP mill himself out was the most satisfying thing ever.

I hope them implement something in the game to skip a whole chain of effects, like a small cross on the corner of the effects saying "skip all the effects on my cards". I've been there with the black/white life gaining deck and it gets a bit annoying, particularly when you don't have mana but the effect keeps triggering.

I ran a variant of this before Remorseful Cleric came out. Now that Ravnica is available, you might run one Crucible of Worlds, and some token generators, so that you can convoke out some bigger creatures to end it even quicker.

What do you think about adding Kaya, Orzhov Usurper, the new planeswalker from RNA to this Combo? For her ult: "-5: Kaya, Orzhov Usurper deals damage to target player equal to the number of cards that player owns in exile and you gain that much life." As an immediate win against people who want to rope/slow play while you minion beat down.

I would personally splash red. Then run Deafening Clarion, Crucible of worlds and Memorial to War. The latter 2 aren't that necessary to be honest, but After Fall resolves being able to destroy to any land placed by your opponent for the rest of the game at instant speed just seems evil.

@@bitter_light Perhaps. Didn't mention Star as i feel that would be a completely different deck. For the most part the single land destruction cards can be skipped in this deck. The main issue is that if your opponent has no lands you can't even cast Star as a board-wipe if you need to.

@@allenyang5697 I actually play Mending in Golgari with World Shaper. Use Glowspore and Stitcher's Supplier to fill your grave with lands, then just explode them onto the field. Use payoff cards like Multani and/or Josu Vess and/or Sylvan awakening. Or run 3 colors for Banefire. It's a completely different deck to golgari midrange, it focuses much more heavily on lands.

sure you can still play star. it just says "destroy a land" and not "destroy a land an opponent controls". so if you really need to cast it you can do so by blowing up one of your own lands

How do u properly block and sacrifice your creature to "remove" the attack? I tried to block a Carnage Tyrant with Fanatical Firebrand, but after I block and sac the firebrand, carny still hit me in the face.

You probably did it correctly - Carnage Tyrant just has trample. So since the tyrant needed to deal 0 damage to your creature to kill it, the remaining 7 goes to your face.

Hey, I've been enjoying your videos but one quick suggestion from a newer mtg player. When you are going through the deck, could you try to keep your cursor on the key cards you are talking about for 5-10 seconds? I find myself attempting to read it and then you move the cursor somewhere else sometimes not even on a card while talking. I know I could lookup the card myself but primarily watching on a mobile device makes it a little harder. Thanks!

Wouldn't the shards (that artifact that taps for X colorless mana, where X is equal to the number of shards you control) be a better mana source than the relics?. Yes they don't give card advantage + tempo, but they can make you use the combo early
