Looks like he's giving himself a workout... like he's on a Bow-flex.... the way he has his kit set up. At the very least he's reaching for the cymbals a bit. I like having everything right at my disposal personally. But I'm a fan and I wouldn't necessarily criticize a pro drummer, just giving my 2 cents.
