The dude at the start who was cooking and didnt attack you the first time you saw them, was never hostile to you. Frost has a Mechanic that Not everyone is a enemy who wants you dead, some people are willing to trade and talk with you, and some, like the people in question just want to be left alone, they would never turn hostile unless you get too close at which point they feel threatened enough to engage you. You could have just walked past them while keeping your distance and they would have let you.

I like to think if Frost as a history of the Commonwealth before the base game. When paired with the line that the settler from Finch farm makes in the base game about "how the Commonwealth used to be more dangerous". Frost truly feels like the cannon behind the Commonwealth s history. And really makes you realize how easy the sole survivor has it during the base game.
@krisisgaming Жыл бұрын
That’s a really cool way to think about it, because I’d like to think that by the time 200 years pass, the commonwealth would’ve morphed back into some sort of civilisation. So all of the cannibals and cultists would’ve phased out or turned into other factions, like I could totally get behind the themis cult turn into the children of atom.
@maestrofeli4259 Жыл бұрын
one of the main problems with this is that the institute is pretty different in frost compared to fallout 4, but maybe there could be some explanations of how everything ended the way it did. With that said, the world of frost was very well made in the sense that it could perhaps morph into the fallout 4 world, but the way things would develop isn't super obvious.

This is great! Some tips that took me forever to figure out that will make anyone looking to try this mod's life easier, tho- hostility in a lot of survivors is based off of proximity. Spend too long near them or get too close and they go hostile. That's why that couple at the beginning of the game seems like they're friendly before going hostile. Mod author wanted to simulate people not wanting to fight, but also being afraid of you stealing their shit or killing them in their sleep. If you don't want to have to kill them, don't get close. Either sneak past or give them a wide berth. Also, headshots are super important in frost. They do massively more damage, particularly against ghouls who have had all of their other parts buffed up. When in melee, just make sure that your cursor is pointing at their head or slightly above their head, and it'll pop like a balloon.
@krisisgaming Жыл бұрын
Yeah I learned the proximity thing much much much later, but at the beginning I just figured everyone had beef with me

FROST is pretty nonsense in that you take all your accuracy with guns and give it to the enemy. And yes, Norway is quite nice no matter the time of year. The General Atomics Galleria robots will aggro on you in any reality until you talk to the Mr. Handy in the control tower and convince him you're there to open the Galleria. The distress signals you pick up from extending sattelite radio arrays vanilla always lead to dead people, sadly, but they're worth following up on for the experience, as there are some cool yet heart-breaking stories to some. Have you not done the Cabot quest from the main game? Dude's literally 100s of years old and has been incarcerated there since before to war, so itr makes sense he's there at the time of FROST.
