The family's last farewell to their beloved Prince Henrik

With a need for the gaze and heavy tears on the cheek, Queen Margrethe, Crown and Prince Joachim and Princess Marie came out of Christiansborg Palace church after their beloved Prince Henrik's coffin (had been borne out). It happened after a beautiful and historic funeral ceremony. The last farewell outside the church was difficult and sorrowful, but at the same time it appeared that the Queen, with her sons crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim, and daughters and grandchildren around him stood and thought of all the good, she and the family's Henri, through a long Life, so generously welcomed his surroundings.

Not to in anyway take away from the dignity and sacredness of the funeral, but the family had to wait so long for their cars. I really felt for them. After the hearse left the church, I was surprised by the music. I surely don't know the traditions and protocol. I do hold that entire family in very high regard. God bless each and every one.

I remember when I first saw this when it happened, Queen Margrethe was crying inside the church. There was also a video of her entrance, pure sad. She looked sad even though she smiled. What a brave lady!

This was from the memorial service for Prince Henrik, the late husband of Queen Margarethe of Denmark 🇩🇰. He was from a French aristocratic background,he was a Count of Mozepat. Prince Henrik like Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth's husband was a Prince Consort since his wife was a Queen Regnant. In other words, Prince Henrik was just a Prince Consort. However because he was born with a title, their sons, Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim, their wife's and all of their children also carry the titles of Count and Countess of Mozepat as well as Prince and Princess of Denmark

I lived in a town not far from Copenhagen as a child for a time, and at a celebration on Jutland we were walking along , and the royal family was walking with us,a more relaxed time I suppose. But what we loved was how Danmark allows the royal family to have lives.

Prince Henrik was not Denmark's king. His position was exactly the same as that of the late Prince Philip of the UK. I think both were equally loved by their respective people. Prince Philip's runaway mouth had always made me laugh Lolz.

The last King of DK was Queen Margretha’s father, Frederick IX. Prins Hendrik was never King, but was accorded the title of Prins as the monarch’s consort, a title about which he was deeply unhappy. He was a French Count (de Montpezat) in his own right and his sons and grandchildren also hold the title of Count/Countess although such title is only successive in the male line (Agnatic succession). He was cremated and his ashes spread in the Danish seas and private gardens of Fredensborg palace. He refused to be buried at the Queen’s tomb at Roskilde Cathedral.
