meh ... its like any other solo played in any bars with cover bands. Its missing the song's feel and direction (minimalism and 7th accents). To be honest the whole song in this live felt little ... I wouldn't call it a good performance. It was a bit of karaoke. It's what I'd call funk for american whites, no racial matter here, but rather a music industry term. This performance wouldn't fly high in Amsterdam Netherlands for instance.

Thankya falletinme be Mice Elf again. this band started the Jazz Funk era, miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Talking Heads Tower of Power etc etc... All were blown away and influenced to go in new directions themselves. Woodstock had no better group than them. If Sly could have stayed off drugs, ...well it's not a perfect world, but they were a perfect Band.

While I understand his enthusiasm, I beg to differ. "GET UP (I FEEL LIKE BEING A SEX MACHINE)" is quite possibly the FUNKIEST record ever recorded. Here it is damn near fifty years later and that record STILL starts a party...anywhere in the world. I bear witness. I close my set with it. All you have to do is start that James brown spoken intro and by the time you get to "...1...2...3...4!.." the crowd is off and running. So yes I appreciate "Thank you falettinme" like crazy but "SEX MACHINE" and quite possibly a few others by James Brown ("PAYBACK", "I CAN'T STAND MYSELF", etc.) are the FUNKIEST tracks ever recorded. GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU CYNTHIA ROBINSON...you served!
