4 egg yolks.
Condensed milk 60 ml / 2 fl oz.
Cornstarch 30 gr / 1 oz.
Sugar 60 gr / 2 oz.
Vanilla sugar 15 g / 0.5 oz.
Milk 340 ml / 11.5 fl oz.
Butter 20g / 0.7oz.
Cover with plastic wrap and let cool.
4 egg yolks.
Sugar 60 gr / 2 oz.
Vegetable oil 75 ml / 2.5 fl oz.
1 teaspoon vinegar.
A pinch of salt.
Sugar 60 gr / 2 oz.
Beat until frothy.
Flour 100 gr / 3.5 oz.
1 teaspoon baking powder.
27 x 18 cm tin with baking paper.
Bake at 170°C for 30 minutes.
Dark chocolate 120 gr / 4 oz.
Heavy Cream 33-35% 120 ml / 4 fl oz.
Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

It’s nice and looks delicious BUT… I’m from Boston and that’s not at all traditional BCP. The original ia a single round cake split, filled with pastry cream man’s topped with a chocolate fudge frosting.

Another variant is to use lemon or orange juice and zest instead of the vanilla sugar, cook the same way and either use the same base or a home-made very short butter pastry, add the lemon or orange topping and instead of chocolate add meringue and brown under a grill/in the oven. Mum used to make this when we were kids and the oranges or lemons were ripe on the trees. Lovely and very rich but the citrus cuts through the sweetness. Haven't tried it with the vanilla sugar but might give it a try (never knew it was Boston pie though - is that Boston in Lincolnshire or another one - it was always just lemon or orange meringue pie to us.). Thank you for the memory and will have to make it again, will try this version as well.

Очень интересный тортик! Нужно попробовать испечь, заинтересовал. Но я бы корж разрезала и крем положила бы внутрь, и в крем можно добавить лимонную цедру. А в целом тортик очень понравился. Спасибо! Удачи каналу.
