You are correct. During the time of release PSHomes primary source of currency (microtransactions) were a bit of a taboo and relatively unheard of before. Although it was still profitable the success rate today would be much much higher. In fact I'd say atleast 85% of games profits come from microtransactions, aside from the money 💰 being important in today's gaming industry most games have a central hub for gatherings and planning/chatting with other gamers. Which was homes original intent from launch, Sony never really expected the trajectory that home had, it went from a gamer meet up for other games and partying up to becoming a legitimate second life.

I'm really impressed by what "Nagato's Revenge" and the rest of the team has managed to do. I played the offline prototype a few days ago and it's just like I remembered, minus the people and mini-games. It's insane how many spaces they've managed to collect, whenever I played the official version of PS Home back in the day I could only select between 10-15 areas at most. It's nice to see that they'll finally get the attention they've deserved for so long, and I hope people will keep donating areas to them. "Irem Square" is the area I miss the most, and it would've been wonderful to finally visit it again.

I think the team are hoping this video will get more people to try it and donate their caches. Every new cache brings us back closer to what we had and although I know it's a lot of work, it makes it a much richer experience for us. Playstation home was the first place where I was able to make proper online friends. It was what helped me with alot of my anxiety. When it was taken down I went back to how I was but not near as bad. Playstation home was the first thing to give me confidence and the people helped encourage me. I worked out, did things right and even grew a little self worth. I dont have a ps3 anymore but if they broght it back to ps5 exactly how it was I would jump on it in a heart beat. PlayStation home was honestly the most underrated virtual social space with a lot of cool activities and a bunch of different worlds to visit. Honestly would’ve been the best during these quarantine times.

I remember playing this, I played this until something creepy happened. So one day I was taking pictures within the PlayStation home and after I got off and looked at my pictures I noticed a user was in the background in every shot, staring at my avatar from the background,I went to multiple places and took a lot of pictures, needless to say I never logged back in after that.

Things that made psn home so special to me. 1.The community 2.The aspect of varied Video gaming studios creating there own places for either there studio "Konami" Or an theme area for an game "Uncharted" 3. varied Events, such as E3,Cristmas, halloween. 4.Games(May it the bigger one or those fake Arcade games) 5.The aspect of exploring, there where always something new to find or do. 6.The aspect of getting bit size stuff for doing varied things. 7.The Artstyle 8.The details, such as having poster for new movies at the cinema or having screen that show of the latest game at the E3 event. 9.The buy aspect(this part made the home experience more then just an hub world and instead the stores feelt more alive. 10.The aspect of interact with varied things...Dance floor, sitting,Watching Cinema e.tc..Another thing that created more dept to the home experience. 11.Sony and other companies support for Home.

I miss playstation home so much. Home was just one of those things I looked forward to every day, going through my rough teenage years. Meeting so much awesome people. There was nothing more relaxing than chilling in Central Plaza playing Saucer Pop, Bowling Alley playing pool or icebreakers, in the Movie Theater watching Trailers or in the Mall chilling with friends listening to that calming music. It meant so much to so many, including myself. People have flocked over to GTA V or Nebula Realms to make that into their “Home” but it just isn’t the same to me. I hope it comes back one day. ♥️ “Bend over and lean, and let’cha chain swing.” It’s all coming back again. 💔

Sony had their own Metaverse, making millions of dollars on it, and just shut it down for no reason. They were well ahead of the curve and they just axed it.
