Im swapping out an sm465 manual transmission to a 4l80e in a carburetored 350 sbc 74 gmc Stepvan because I need that overdrive gear for highway speeds. Hoping this controller might be the ticket.

i have light switches from home depot to make my transmission shift it takes 3 switches to make it work chevrolet transmissions solenoids shift off the ground it takes four wires to make it work its almost like driving a manual lol

I have a question about putting a carbureted motor into a vehicle that already has a tps module on the vehicle? It’s a 99 mustang that I’m swapping a 289 into

Simply Tie the tps into the controller. Will work just fine as long as the tps is in good health

What eles did you need for the swap drive shaft and shifter bracket under car?

I made every cross member and mount myself from scratch to fit the engine and trans. Had to make a tunnel. But yes the driveshaft depending on your plcement and shifter as well as moving the radiator forward about an inch.

Software shows a 3-2 downshift PWM. Do your 4l60e's do the PWM or are they ON/Off for the downshift?

How does the unit know rpm to be able to adjust the shift points? Does it hook up to the distributor somehow?

It does through the tach side but its not required. It knows how through tire size, rear ratio, rpm, mph, tps, and output speed factors

@@PerformaBuiltTransmissions I have a level 2 700 from y’all right now in a 4x4. Do you know if I can direct swap a 4L60E into it? I’ve looked into it a little but couldn’t figure out how to get the electric speed sensor for the trans to shift properly. Will a 4L60E be the correct length? And will the rear part of the trans have a spot for the speed sensor? I know on oem 4x4 applications the speed sensor most of the time is in the T-case

Yes it is a direct swap and the vss is the same as some later 700 vss's. The dimensions of the 4l60E K case and 700R4 are exact dimensions give or take a few thousands for converter spacing.

@@PerformaBuiltTransmissions the only spot I see online for the vss is on the tail shaft of a 2wd trans. In a 4x4 there is no tail shaft

@@PerformaBuiltTransmissions also in a 4x4 oem app they install the vss in the tail of the transfercase. In my 84 this location is where I have my gear for manual speedo cable. So do you see my dilemma?
