When you said “thanks Mr Cotter” I got curious who invented it. I found three different people claiming to have invented it, but only one named Cotter. John Cotter from Ireland gets my vote. 😆

Thanks Pete & family, So a 756 story. We farmed in Wisconsin around Paire Du chien. I remember when our 756 was delivered around 1974. She was big and red. We used it to run the grain carts, augers, baling hay and take Heston bails out to the Hereford cows. We would ride on those big fenders. I could just reach those peddles. Always loved to unlock the brake peddles and spin the entire tractor. Thanks for not only restoring it and keeping it running. But using it. She was always my go-to tractor.👍

I am sure it has been said in the comments already but you need a new safety switch. If you look close you can see the sparks of it blow out when you first started the ignition. It did work but it doesn’t now. Great job gonna be a great spring.

I enjoy everything about a tractor show. It’s hard to narrow down what to document. My favorite part, which you couldn’t capture on camera, is the smell of an old tractor still in it’s work clothes.

Hi Pete, Don't ever say again you're not a mechanic, you do better work than some of the "professionals" I worked with. Watching the video I noticed as soon as you hit the start button the safety switch sparked like crazy! My guess it arched and burnt out. We use jumper wires all the time to get power to things in auto repair all the time too. Nice job and another great video! Keep 'em coming 👍

Yes, I too suspect a direct short with your safety connection. When you first went to start, as soon as you engaged, beneath the platform, under your left heel there was a large flash of spark. I was looking for a cooked connector when you went to jumper it. Nice work there, it's always a joy when it works the way you want it to on start-up, and everything is nice a dry. Thanks Pete, always a pleasure.

Farmers have to be the best teachers. Cole the corn said today that our grandfather's had to teach their how to adjust the planters every year so wouldn't wear out. Farmer's had to the son and his son to not wear out. See how that works, that's how things last forever. Thank you for the words of wisdom Cole. Jon said the same thing the other day. My great-grandfather and my grandfather were master watchmakers and General manager of Hamilton watch company in Lancaster penn. I'm sad neither one lived long enough to teach any of his boys. We did play on his tools, parts in grand chest's from the old country. Every watch part was made and designed by them. What a great legecy. Jon your farm and equipment and your kids will be your Jon. I always surprised how complicated and well designed a tractor is. From a distance they look very simple and unsophisticated but are the opposite. A lot more sophisticated than the average car. Thus it takes more skill and knowledge to work on a tractor. Peter Larson has that skill . Your videos are inspirational.

It's majestic how that tractor is built, with all that cast steel and iron, hardened gears. Weight added because they were supposed to be heavy-duty. What brutes. That 756 was ordered with all the bells and whisles, but no creature comforts, like cab or rops with top. Thanks Pete!

Love all your video. You have my kind of sense of humor. My kids and grandkids are always groaning. Ha! Keep it up. I'm a retired engineer and have always been curious as to how things worked. I cannot tell you how many things I tore apart to see how they work and then not able to put back together. With a few more years' experience I finally was able too. My wife has always been happy that I could fix things around the house. She leaves things on the kitchen counter for me to take to my work bench to fix. Even my grandkids come to me to fix their stuff. They love to watch me do it and it's a great bonding time. But I'm getting old, and I find it harder to work on my cars. Small stuff I can still handle but the big stuff I just take in. I find all aspects of what you do very interesting, and I appreciate you sharing.

You are correct about a leak in your exhaust hose. At around 17:55 when you are checking the steering, there may be a leak near the front, but also at 18:44 there is a crack in the hose that's clearly visible when looking through the steering wheel. But then it looks like you found that one, ha ha.

I like watching these kinds of videos. My dad had 2 of these tractors, not at the same time though. First one I was young and didn't get to drive it much. The second one came near the end of his career. We both liked using the second one more. Both had turbo's on them which was always fun to hear the whistle.
