When my Dad got home from the Army in the late 60's he got himself his first diesel tractor-a 706 with blower. He had a neighbor, Herb who had a Super C and thought it was just the cat's meow. One day my Dad got stuck crossing a creek on the 706 with a cultivator on the 3-point and called Herb asking if he'd pull him out. Herb came over on his Super C and my Dad was doubtful whether it'd pull out the 706. He found out the shovels on the cultivator were what got him stuck so he dug them out but he let Herb go ahead a try pulling. As soon as he let the clutch out the 706 pulled itself out. Herb exclaimed "Did you see that!? Did you see that!?" Dad let Herb have his moment of glory with his beloved Super C by letting Herb believe his little tractor actually pulled him out.

two comments Pete...first what your spreading on your fields is so much better than what's being spread in DC. Second I realize your operation is fairly small but I love all the work you do with 60-70 year old 2 wheel drive tractors. Not everyone needs a huge four wheel drive or track driven tractor. The work still gets done.

Hey Pete, given the amount of time & effort we put in restoring old equipment, what I always do, is throw an old bed sheet over the top of the machine to keep the dust & moisture off. It really pays dividends in the long term & only takes a minute to do....
