This is so inspiring!! Just subscribed and can't wait to watch more of your videos and learn! Just out of curiosity, how did you do your research for finding and buying the land? When did you start looking? What were you two doing before the farm? Did you have any farm experience? Mahalo!!

Aww thank you and thanks for tuning in! As for the property, I actually found it on Zillow. Found a super overgrown lot that was on the market for 283 days. I saw the potential and pitched it to my wife. Then during the pandemic we pulled the trigger 😬 We both work in TV production and my wife now owns a clothing company, Coconut Avenue. I also own a surf school. And no real farming experience but I grew up on a chick and cattle ranch. I also did landscaping and carpentry for a long time before the TV production world. And lastly, check out one of our latest episodes, "We're Back!" It's a recent update of the farm and our progress. Posting more soon. Mahalo, happy holidays!

Aloha! Yep, hemo those damn invasive African Tulip trees (the worst!), and the “fiberglass grass” (as we call it) - especially because the feral pigs love to hide, nap and build nests in it.

Hi there! We are taking everything in phases depending on what we have in the budget and so far the tractor services were about $75-100/hour (spent about $1,200 total) and the fencing materials we’re at about $3,200 per acre in materials. Most of the labor we’re doing ourselves but decided to hire out someone to cut the grass first time around because we can’t afford a tractor yet.. thanks for tuning in :)

So great to find local farming!! I am a gentle soul, but those Madagascar geckos need to be killed. I loved them and thought they were super cute until I learned that they are literally EATING the mo`o or the native gecko... eating their eggs, and eating other mo`o themselves. Now I have a bludgeoner stick in every corner of my yard to bash them if I see them. I even put a baby one in my slug jug of salt with the snails because I couldn't bash the baby one... I'm loving your channel tho...mahalo

Aw man yeah those little baggahs are everywhere these days.. I very rarely see the tan mo’o on da ceiling anymore and even the big green chameleons ☹️ We will be talking about THE PESTS in episode #5 and I’ll be sure to mention those guys. And mahalo nui for tuning in 🙃

Lol you don't need a big piece of property to start a farm. A lot of people lease land of even clear out a small portion of their backyard to start their home garden. It's always best to start small anyway, we're starting to figure that out. Anyhow keep that head up and thanks for tuning in :)
