I really like the tone and inflection in your voice! Its really nice to not hear an AI Voice doing an informative and educational video. Well done!

Thank you so much! I agree that AI narration in these types of videos have gotten old already, lol. I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)

@WorldLikeChannelYT if you need ideas or help researching I'd be glad to help. I have My Bachelors in history from Murray State University with a minor in Political Science.

@@kevinsmith828 Thank you! That's very nice of you to offer :) I'd love to hear any ideas you might have for potential video topics. When I do polls in the future for future video topics, please feel free to leave as many suggestions as you want! Congrats on the B.A. in history too! I was also considering majoring in history when I was still in my freshman year. But ultimately I decided that I loved languages just a little more than history, so I graduated with a major in Russian and a minor in German :)

The Nordic Counsil is just a place where the ‘Nordics’ meet to talk cooperation. The counsil cannot really make laws (or anything important). They just give advice to their respective parlaments about possible laws that the countries would agree on. The reluctance to grant Faroe Islands and Greenland full membership has more to do with the fact that the Sami People in the north of Norway, Sweden and Finland have very limited rights and giving Faroe Islands and Greenland full membership would give the Sami hope of becomming more independent. Also, the counsil discusses security / military cooperation and a lot of measures need to be set up before Faroe Islands and Greenland (who don’t have their own armed forces) could get access to those meetings. Obviously, nobody wants leaks of sensitive information.

Really well done and informative video on the Faroe Islands and an enjoyable speaking voice presenting the information. I’ll be watching to see what happens on October 28th when the Nordic Council votes!

@@lselzer Thank you! Yes, it will be interesting to see how the Council votes and what consequences it will have. Depending on what happens, a follow-up video might be in order!

One day I will visit the Faroe Islands. By the way, regional parliaments/councils (on county level) in Sweden are called landsting.

I wish you a safe and fulfilling trip when you do go! Thank you for the info as well! For some reason I forgot about Sweden when talking about Nordic styles of government. Now I know :)

KSP music???
@WorldLikeChannelYT2 ай бұрын
I guess so, haha! I had never heard of the Kerbal Space Program before you brought it to my attention. Much of the music was actually taken from Incompetech and Kevin Macleod's productions. I guess it so happens that his Frost Waltz piece was also used in KSP. The more you know!

The currency shown on screen (around 0:29) isn't Danish, it's Swedish - specifically pre-2015/2016 notes. The 1000-crown bill has Gustav Vasa (Gustav I of Sweden - the guy who led the rebellion against the Kalmar Union and was made king in 1523), the 500-crown bill has Karl XI of Sweden on it, the 100-crown bill has Carl von Linné (Carl Linneaus, 'the father of taxonomy'), and the 20-crown bill has Selma Lagerlöf, a famous Swedish author on it.

Thank you for pointing that out! I believe the site where I got the stock image from listed them as Danish Krone, so I just assumed they were right, haha. Definitely should've researched that a bit more! Hopefully you enjoyed the video still!
