I don't recall that earning the title DK title is won by beating DK on the mountain. Dom most likely won since he doesn't lose unless it's intentional, but Sean retained the title because Dom wasn't interested in it, he just wanted to race and take Han's belonging back to the US. Besides, if Dom gets the title of DK, then he will be the absentee DK because he immediately left Tokyo after his conversation with Sean.
