Craig Lieberman actually stated that they used mixes of different engines for the sound of the cars, and that they also added in animal sounds, doms rx7 in the first race has a lion roar. Also a rocket sound effect for when tran passed jesse in the race.

This is a racing car and not a normal one. And if you want to drift with the front wheel, you almost always have to handbbrake your rear wheels. And the use of the handbrake prevents the driving wheels. And the best way is to reduce the brake intensity on the front wheels or remove it.
