It took me a while to get used to f122 but once I did get up to speed I was the fastest I’ve ever been and I feel like this Handling model suits me very well

I've played f1 2020 for 1.5 years since I skipped f1 2021 and I got pretty good but I still used the racing line. When I bought f1 22 I decided to start with elite settings and it was really a struggle. But now I am doing time trial in top 2 000 players on steam. I am even able to beat 100 AI in races.

I have been racing in online and got given a B safety rating and always try to give people room… after 3/4 races in a row of people just deliberately crashing into me I am down to a C and can’t find a lobby where I don’t get crashed into to. So frustrating and is leading me to play the game less and less. When I try especially hard to be clean often sacrificing numerous places on track I still get smashed into and my rating sufferers even more! Watching races like this where there is respect is so enjoyable just wish I people online could be the same. You don’t have to be fast to be clean.

Couldn't agree more with your commentary. I'm in an xbox race league (2TL), where there are some really fast drivers. However, I'm doing well because of my consistency. Always room to improve, but I try to be consistent. One of the key areas to offset some pace is staying within track limits. Think about it. 3 sec, 6 sec penalty by a faster driver offsets their pace advantage.

Loving F1 22 so far. 21 was my first F1 game and never took it seriously. Not sure why I suddenly have the urge to get better at F1 because of F1 22. All the assists are now off except ABS 😂.

I couldn't understand how I was constantly spinning out in 5th gear at 25% throttle input. It was so absurd I just refunded the game. Maybe I'm missing something with setups, but not sure why I need to setup the car just to make it somewhat driveable.

I don't own F1 22 but I bought F1 2021. And I made a prediction back then. I said F2 cars are gonna be the base for F1 in 22. I really enjoyed driving F2 cars because you had to rely on keeping the momentum through the corners. And I felt more connected to F2 cars, they had "weight", in my opinion better FFB, and you could catch slides because they were much slower. Are F1 22 cars similar to F2 2021 but with much more speed and ERS?

For me man it’s not similar at all. Way different cars and way different feeling. Especially on the wheel. You really feel the track bumps on the wheel for f1 22

@@illinoisjay4300 OK. I was just curious because I really enjoyed F2 in 2021 and half hated F1 2021. Any mistake in F1 car and you got punished big and you really had to drive "visually". In real life you see slides but they don't lose as much. In F2 cars I could feel the slides, maybe because they were slower, and correct mistakes. And because F2 2021 were running tires F1 cars are now running, I was guessing that maybe F2 2021 was the base for F1 22. That was my thinking at the time.

After doing a race against humans I realized my starts aren’t too bad. I guess the AI is just really good. Will practice in the Wet tho, in general the car is hard to control on corner exit right now so more wet practice will help. Thank you for the tips 👍

JD, I got my first racing wheel today (G29) and having played with the settings a lot I’m still struggling stopping the car without locking up (never had this issue on controller), to hit apex’s I have to brake 30m early! Should I start out with ABS or just keep struggling through the frustration?

Hey man faced the same issue a few months back switching from the controller to a wheel. I have the same wheel, I'd suggest increase the brake sensitivity from the ingame settings. And once you reach the braking point push the pedal hard and then trail brake from there.

try change your brake pedal with your brake pedal. Because it is a lot softer and has more travel. Hope this helps
