Thanks for this video! The Alpine Trail is seared into my memory from the Cascade Creampuff in the early 2000s, and it was so cool to see clips of it after almost 20 years (whew that makes me feel old)

That trail ends at Westfir, OR. at the Office Bridge. There was a sawmill there for years. It's all torn down now but there's still a small community of people living there. The Office Bridge was named for the mill office which is on the other side of the river there. I think it's still a B&B. The river there is the North Fork of the Middle Fork of the Willamette River.

Funny enough, that was one of his early videos that I missed. While I was researching the trip I found it and knew I had to ride there. We just did Alpine only instead of his ATCA route.

at 1:40 the high wall trail is exactly like Sea Otter Classic (Fort Ord) trails. scares the crazy outta you because your going so fast. 38 mph! Crazy fast! great video please keep making them :)

Haven't been to the Sea Otter Classic, or the area in general yet. Its on the ToDo list, but I don't know when I'll get to it. Happy you enjoyed it! Working on the Bend, OR video now.

This is one of my top fave channels. How did i miss all these amazing beautiful videos. Its like finding buried treasure. I was wondering how much you ride trails like this sitting down or in the attack position? Which one the most.. Hope that makes sense? Do your arms get tired on the long downhills? Beautful country.
@BlindstuffMTB5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the kind words! I really enjoy hearing you've liked the content. As soon as I'm pointing downhill its attack position, on trails like this, sitting down is solely for pedaling on the uphill. Arm pump is a huge deal, I used to get a lot of it, but its something that can be easily trained for with minimal weights and it makes a huuuuge difference!

@@BlindstuffMTB Yep. I just got back home today. Rode Alpine twice, Lawler and Hardesty. All great trails. Lawler is my favorite but Alpine is a close second mostly because it has such long straight fast sections.

That exposure....yikes! I remember you used to have a mental block with the skinny in Highway to Hell! Now look at this! That exposure would definitely mess with me. Looks a bit like the speed in my last Windham video. I topped off at 35MPH there. It just feels amazing to hit that kind of speed and just feel the bike squirming under you. You're ticking off all the bucket list trails Stef!
@BlindstuffMTB5 жыл бұрын
Ironically, skinnies still freak me out hahaha! Nice man, 35mph is crazy fast. Its so nice to get the chance to ride like that when we cant get anything like it in FL.

Yes- Having ridden Alpine and other Oakridge trails (Tire Mountain, Sawtooth Mountain) I can testify that those hanging meadows are VERY steep, and intimidating. High consequence areas!

You would really like it, there's so much variety, and with Horálka it would be amazing to spend a few weeks out there. No new bike yet. Waiting for the 2020 Jeffsy 29 to come out.

@@BlindstuffMTB That is the plan, take the van fro 2-3 weeks to PNW, but next year, this year already had looooong 4K miles trip.... happy you decided go for 29" wheels, bet you gonna be happy, cheers V!

Be aware this is a multi use trail and you could encounter motorcycles moving uphill at a considerable velocity as well.

Totally valid. People tend to either love it or hate it. Appreciate the honest feedback. I'm actually considering adding a ton of grease to quiet it down so it's less noticeable in videos
