Sorry for the click bait start of the video, that was on the previous lap 😁! If this comment gets 20 likes, I will upload that one as well 💁. Also sorry for the cameras, foot camera ran out of battery in the previous lap, and dash cam recorded the first 5s...

That was a sweet drive. So smooth and carrying so much speed thru the corners. Bravo it was impressive. I also have a GR but nothing like those skills to extract that sort of performance safely. Does the KW suspension add a lot more than stock shox to the handling ?
@GreatMotors Жыл бұрын
Thank you for such nice words :)! I am just an amateur that likes to have fun on the weekends - it's my adrenaline kicks. The KW brought three important factors for me: 1- the car settles down quick vs. stock. Be it a bump, a kerb or an elevation change. This makes it easier to keep under control. 2- it has adjustable camber plates. You can change camber using bolts with the stock suspension, but the different shock mounts give you extra adjustability. Camber is important not only for grip, but for tire wear. Stock camber is around 1° negative and that is really little. You will eat the outside of the tires when pushing (even more so with the relatively soft stock springs). 3- Setup. Being able to adjust anything and then some. Made it much easier for me to tune the car the way I wanted it to drive. It's no longer about raw speed and grip, it's also a lot about driver preference.

Nice lap, gotta love when low traffic! Did you consider Whiteline front bushings? I know it' easy to say while sitting in sofa at home, but it seems they would help you with understeer and you could go on the throttle much sooner out of the corners, actually most of the way through the corners. Noticed 'cos car seems "floaty" for aftermarket suspension.
@GreatMotors Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip, I haven't so far. I am quite moderate in what concerns modifications - for example my car is still 100% stock on the outside. I tend to drive long stretches of time until I find a limiting factor and decide to modify it. First season I had the car for, I had it stock (besides brake fluid, pads, and lines). Then I added the suspension after 10 months - so end of 2021. Then I drove a full season plus (all of 2022) a couple of months of 2023 with the car like that. And only now after struggling with heat management for a while, I have decided to add the intercooler, oil cooler, and downpipe to help the car deal better with the track use. At the same time I added the anti roll bars because I felt that I needed more roll control than what the suspension was giving me. I only drove the car once with this changes (this lap was still without them).

Vale a pena? Vai prejudicar a rotação? Carro demasiado rijo?
@GreatMotors Жыл бұрын

@GreatMotors Жыл бұрын

@GreatMotors Жыл бұрын
@billg26 Жыл бұрын
@GreatMotors Жыл бұрын
Parece-me a comparação mais justa.

You're too hungry to be quick. That chase for getting through corners fast will cost you more than pulling back and steadily building your lines into muscle memory. Once you feel the line and know everything from expected weight transfer, bumps and grip times will lower naturally.
@GreatMotors Жыл бұрын
I do this for fun, if I am not hungry to push myself who will be ? I am no 1000 laps a year guru, but I would think I have a good understanding of the lines and placement of the car. Ofc I make mistakes, and there's always a better way. That's why I keep pushing ✌️
