Those lines are just pieces of tape the pit crew puts down for the driver so he can stop the car where they can service the car without any issues, not part of the track like the boxes themselves. Plus it'd be even more confusing if their entry was blocked by the car pitting behind them and they had to enter at an awkward angle

it's mostly due to regulations, NASCAR only allows up to 5 mechanics to work on the car during a pit stop, 2 operating the pneumatic gun, one operating the jack and fittin the front tires, one for refueling and one to fit the rear tires. Formula 1 regulations allow teams of more than 20 people: 4 jackmen, one in front and one in the rear plus spares, 2 cleaning the front wing, 1 cleaning the rear wing, then four (one per tire) operating the pneumatic gun, four tire fitters, four tire removers, 2 mechanics to stabilize the car, and one decides when to release the car in the pit lane. i hope this provided some extra information, if not Driver61 made a fantastic video going in the tiniest details of an f1 pit stop kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnfalKRroctjrbc&ab_channel=Driver61
