I tried my best using limpets but for me it doesn't work. Getting constant limpet drone expired. And for me, the distance required to de-render the brain trees is beyond the range of my collector limpets. And they keep smashing themselves into the ground.

For some manufactured materials there are some systems worth checking: Core Dynamics Composites: Check LTT 3010 and LP 413-18. These systems spawn an endless amount of high grade emissions with this material and the grade 4 of this same type. Imperial Shielding: Check Laguz and 21 Eridani. I was told that these systems behave like the 2 systems above but for Imperial Shielding. When using these systems you don't even have to relog, you can just fly to all the HGE's that are available and fill up in no time.

Hacking the large floating bases, i don't remember the specific name but they have 2 hacking terminals and with recon limpets and cold running you can avoid bounties and hack relog and get encoded stuff pretty fast too. They are these giant orbiting bases, usually only show up on the menu panel when you get closer to the planet they orbit around

Just tried a couple of these. Started with the Selenium, which was all good. I then tried for the Technectium (or whatever it is 🙃), but all I kept getting was Manganese and Zinc! Tried the light and darks sides, North and South, but every time it was just Mang and Zinc 🤨 Moved on from there to try for the Antimony. Couldn't decipher where the 'Snowman' was so just hit it the same way as the planet before, only to find Tin and Germanium, plus some Iron. So I moved on again to try for the Ruthenium, and bless the goids I found some! So I've camped up for a bit. Just wanted to point out that, as one of the stones that rolled said, "you can't always get what you want", or expect for that matter 😉 🙂 PS - Beavis and Butthead rock 🤘✌️🙌 PPS - ...and so do you, Sir 🫡🫡🫡

I highly suggest using min-ed-launcher, and disabling the intro video when you need to do the hge loops.

@@HawkesGaming min-ed-launcher for those that haven't seen it yet, has a function to auto-restart the game on your set delay. It also bypasses the frontier launcher and puts you right in the game. Shaves a few seconds here and there on game startup.

@@azog23 You find the movie file in the game install directory, (optinoally)rename it, then make a new empty file of the same name(to not cause a file not found error). It'll then try to play the empty file and carry on no problem. If you don't rename it, and just replace it with an empty file, you can always get it back by validating the game files in steam or the frontier launcher.

The Ruthenium crater is where I decided to drive my SRV out of the crater. I was really close to the edge but the wheels were losing grip, so my dumb ass decided to thrust up, but i failed miserably, died, lost my only SRV and a few million of exo-bio data from the trees. 😅 Great vid! There's even an anarchy space station in system to sell items: Walker Platform. Ground Settlement with full service outfitting is Clough Base. I've found that farming all HGEs with 20+ minutes on them and then using the traders to trade for what i need. Starting from Jameson Memorial i can usually max out a grade 5 within 8 nearby populated systems . 45 minutes per loop to max out 1 grade 5 trade and repeat.

First thing you do: trade down all G5 mats horizontally at the traders before you start collecting more. This will max out your efficiency.

I'm not sure if it was from FDEV or one of the many PARTNERED You Tube content provider's, But prior to the release of the new update. In addition to there being new ship's, and supposed changes to Power Play, I heard that enginerring was going to need less material's, and that material's were going to be easier to accumulate. Thus far, though it's only been a couple of day's, and everyone seem's to be only discussing the MKII which is available in two different variation's, one being an "E" graded as any normal ship bought from the ship store, and one already "A" graded and enginerred, along with a paint job and various attachment's. Both being available for early access but have different cost in regard's to the number of arc's, three month's sooner, then those not partaking in the early access. It would seem that regardless of which one is being utilized, there both being referred to as the same, meaning simply the new MKII. When in reality, there are two simular ship's, but two different loadout's available. One need's to be upgraded and engineered the other come's upgraded and engineered. Thus there a vast difference between them, that is not taking into consideratiion, when discussing them. Having the number of hour's I have utiizinga Python now known as the MKI. In various endevor's requiring different loadout's and engineering. I've zero interest in what FEDV is referring to as "STARTER SHIP'S". But I am interested in the new grade 5, class "A" SCO, once obtained via the ship store, and enginerred for jump range, and mass manager. Along with the SCO. The MKI will be so much more better, having bigger cores, more optional slot's that the extra large weapon and two additonal utilities the MKII has, will not be a factor. It is to the N-th degree a noob ship. Not for any pilot with more than several thousand hour's piloting a MKI.

I asked FDEV through my contact if there would be any changes to how we farm them. They were not aloud to answer that yet. So I decided to just push the video out expecting to have to update it later. I asked them point blank along with us needing less materials to engineer that it would be nice to farm them in such a way we don't need to log out of the game and back in again to be efficient. Anyway that involves similar results without needing to play a relogging simulator would be greatly received by other commanders.

Nail head. Lots of games do this. Throw out a stock and a buffed pay to play good vehicle. Maybe it draws in new players or keeps players that might otherwise quit due to grind. World of Tanks has done this since it came out 15yrs ago or so. The tanks are always better than stock but can be easily beaten by a ground out researched tank. In a world where you can't keep everyone happy, I think it's a decent attempt to keep the edge on the side of vets whilst giving noobs a chance to jump into something sexy early. Python all the way for me. Using Conda on this grind because I left Python in Colonia. I miss u Python. I'll be back soon with stores bursting for the Engineers.

Hey Hawkes... thanks for this awesome guide... but can you now *please* do the same, but for all us Commanders who prefer life out at Colonia, rather than in the bubble? Also, according to posts on Reddit, though I haven't tried it myself, it seems that an SCO FSD totally revolutionises farming of HGEs. As in, more fun, and no relogging necessary. I'm not quite sure how this is done, but it's something you might want to look into.

There are a small handful of systems that perma spawn hges near the bubble. You can just fly from one to the other non stop till you get low on gas go fill up and just keep farming. It takes the relogging out of the equation but sadly it's only for two different types of grade 5 HGEs.

I chose the faster way that didn't line my pockets with money. It's really okay cause 4 days later I went from a few hundred million to making over 8 billion. I just wanted to finish the mat grind faster is all. You can also get biotech conductors from those Robigo missions rewards as well. I just didn't want to have to buy a new ship go outfit it to 30 ly jump range, fly there then start that grind when it's just fast to do the up-trade then trading down.

I can't verify without hunting around for the raw but I am sure there has to be brain tree farms around the 500 ly distance from Colonia. As for the encoded Jameson is very unique. There are mega ships out there that can be scanned for encoded you just need to be a ninja so you don't get into trouble. HGE is tied to system state mostly with a few exceptions that can't be found in colonia. All I can say is if living in colonia is a choice it comes with slower material grind as a side effect.

I second this. On the technetium site there was alot of chromium, manganese but no Technetium. On both brain tree sites actually, close nearby (one at -50,93 ; -165.1, and the other at -51.08 and -164.83).

yes although you will need to use in game mechanics for the HGE's as horizons system states are different. Also brain trees for raw will be different. You would need to refer to my older video where you will be farming crystalline shards instead. However you can still farm them from your ship using the mine launcher. Jameson will be exactly the same for encoded.

Not sure what I am doing wrong but I cannot get materials to drop from the brain trees using the flak - I've been shooting them for an hour and not getting my limpets to go pick up anything. I must be doing something wrong ....

Check your ignore lists first to make sure you didnt add key things to that list. When shooting the cannon do not trigger them to explode until they get to ground level. You will see the change from going down to immediately changing direction flying right at ground level. You only want to trigger the explosion when its right at ground level.

I asked my contact to please take relogging out of the equations on how we farm but keep it close to the amount we can get when relogging, all done through gameplay.

Personally, I'd rather hack data ports at Megaships for the Encoded farming. More fun. I refuse to relogski.

I hope the new engineering changes comes with no need to relog to farm the mats themselves. Not a mega nerf just a happy medium of how we can get them and how available those options are for everyone.

Anyone else struggling finding the grade 5 raw mats. Other than selenium i cant find the others
