A big thing about playing the playoffs is getting more fans in the playoffs then regular season and more fans mean more vc deals and I get my vc mostly from brand deals

Unfortunately the 2k franchise is pay to win if you don’t get a head start with vc. I did get my player to 99 from 60 overall with spending no vc in 2k20 but that was mainly because I would play park a lot and saved up my vc from those park games and then upgraded my player went to my career and then go all my endorsements then easy VC but that was in 2k20 i recommend just keep playing my carter and you will get enough VC to start upgrading

playing for kings is a real grind, i played my complete first season with kings and the only good player on that squad is Fox so if you continously put in 8-10 points per game from bench you will become starter for kings and you can only do trade from your next season(after playing first 10 game as starter), but i switched from kings to lakers in the beginning of second season when my contract expired and i start game in game out every game for lakers replacing westbrook from starters straight up for SG LOL and I am only 82 overall
