The true answer may be hidden inside those 'sympathetic' scenes. I can 100% imagine an audience of horror lovers rolling their eyes because we got too much of her. Personally I kinda love the idea of people being divided over her.

You might be on to something there. But since those scenes have never been released, I can only go off of general audience opinions. And yes, it is an interesting phenomenon to see, but as I noted in the video, unless the writer is deliberately going for that, that's something that should definitely be avoided, because it almost never ends well.

@joshm7713 What anybody may individually feel about this movie is irrelevant to this video. The fact that opinions are so all over the place regarding the character is exactly my point here, because that's on the writers. The fact that test audiences didn't like what they saw, and you don't like that they listened to them, clearly shows that the writers didn't do their job. The character isn't MEANT to be divisive, and the fact that she is that way is the writers fault. No matter what they did, half the audience wasn't going to be happy, and as I said in the video, that's frankly every writer's worst nightmare, a Catch-22 that must be avoided at all costs.
